It only took 6 days! A Hyundai Santa Fe banged into me today while i was waiting to turn right.
Life goes on. I'm used to this kinda stuff happening to me. Keep on Truckin!

Soo sorry Nathan! Damn, it always hurts so much more when this happens to a brand new car. I feel your pain. It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would.

Fortunately, it looks minor in nature. Happens a lot here in So. Cal., and is usually perpetrated by an unlicensed uninsured illegal alien.

And someone scratched my front right fender. Two hairline scratches about 1.5" long. I have never felt this angry before. Looks like they hit a shopping cart. Can't be buffed out cause the white primer is showing.

what the hell is going on, first the white sedan then yours, nathan.. a bad spurt for us e90 ppl. But great news is that its only the rear plastic bumper that got damaged and not any sheet metal; bumpers can be replaced so easy without anyone knowing/devaluing the car

mike in the oc got that rite!! i hate those unlicensed uninsured illegal aliens they suck at driving!! and then when they hit you they either try to blame it on you, try to run, or are so scared about you calling the cops they try to bribe you(i usually call the cop and see what happens, its funny, thank god my e30 is a tank!!) these three things happened to me, sigh...i wonder if they got deported!!

FYI, some "Americans" also drive around WITHOUT insurance. And they bump into "aliens" that drive WITH insurance. If u weren't so biased, you'd realize these things happen and we just gotta deal with it. |

Thanks guys, the damage isn't bad, but the bumper will need to be replaced, because it is a bit cracked.
And i spent about 4 hours detailing my car today and it happened right after! My wife was joking around with me after it happened, she said i may have made it sparkle too much! Can you imagine how much damage there would've been if I had zainoed the car! Like i said, no big deal, life goes on.

I woulda gotten out my car and beat the person up :-( (not really, but that's what i would've felt like doing)
People have no respect these days. here in south africa, it's a common occurance to be rear ended by a taxi. They don't like stopping at yellow lights, or red lights so if you stop, they either swerve out and jump the light or sometimes if they aren't very clever...they just slam into the back of you. I had a friend once doing a right turn, he waited as the light changed, all the cars slowed down to stop...so he figured he could go. A taxi darted out, swerved around a 5 series, then smack into my friends car...needless to say...he wacked the backdoor, broke the wheel off and the car went for a spin. Damn taxi. No insurance...and they don't care. The taxi wanted to drive off...but some old lady chased him. (I am very negative towards taxi drivers, because one drove into my precious black 325 in 2004) |

I can only conclude one thing from how common rear-ending the new E90's is becoming...
People are so enamored with how the car looks when they see it for the first time on the road that they completely stop paying attention to anything else. Thus, I conclude that driving an E90 is a dangerous occupation :P I'm sorry this happened to you Nathan but like you said, it can easily be fixed, its what insurance is for, and there are many other things in life that are more important than material things. No worries.

Take it to a non dealer repair shop that is good. If a police report was made, make sure carfax does not mark it as an accident. I can take away from the car's value... dealer all now report to carfax, or most of them do

The bumper carrier ( the real strengh of the bumper) needs to be checked for damage, and the bumper shocks also need to be checked
The bumper skin is only cosmetic and can hide damage to the real structure behind it |

E90Fleet, you had some good points on non-visible damage. I will have the dealer or the body shop check it out.
Have a good week fellas. Nathan
