A way to gain access into the car without a key?
Long story short. I managed to lock my only remote key fob in the boot and a replacement will take around 20 days (Car is in Beijing and they need to ship it from Germany) !!
I am wondering if there is a way to regain access into the car without breaking a window? I read somewhere of a BMW Security flaw where is possible to insert (any similar key) into the door key barrel, turn and hold, the Windows will roll down. I know this works on my own key but does this work with another key? Willing to give this a try but last thing I want is to set off the alarm continuously. My car is a E82 120i auto 2010 Thanks in advance! Last edited by gavbo; 05-21-2013 at 01:38 AM.. |

Should have gotten Comfort Access - I believe the trunk won't lock with the key inside. (That probably wasn't very helpful, was it???)

When the law tow's your vehicle, even for illegal parking (this is how I know..), they peal back your passenger window, stick a shimmy bar down your door panel till you hit the unlock release. I was amazed at how quick he did it. Ask a tow guy, they can break into ANY car, but tell them not to fuck up your window glass like they did to mine.

So this morning I bite the bullet called BMW wanting to go the replacement route and wait 20+ days .... and they advised I needed some documentation (which was kepted in the car for legal reasons) sending me back to square 1 ... break a window. As a last option, I used an approved locksmith and so glad I did too. It took around 6 minutes, no damage at all but pricey (around 130USD) I made a recoding which I will upload shortly and share with you all. Last edited by gavbo; 05-22-2013 at 04:49 AM.. |

Reminds me of a grade school joke (which I've cleaned up, because it's no longer PC to tell jokes about people from a specific country of origin): Three idiots get out of their car. First one says, "Damn - I just locked the keys in the car. Now I'm gonna have to break the windsheild to get them." Second idiot says, "You moron - don't break the windshield - break the driver's window. It's cheaper to replace." Third idiot looks up, and says "Looks like rain. Maybe we should put the top up."
Is this mic on???
