Weird Skipping/Missing issue - HELP!!
I am not sure what to call this issue but here it is...
Lately, out of no where, I noticed that when I aggressively accelerate, the car skips/missing. Almost like the car is peeling out and finally catches. It can happen multiple times while accelerating. At first I thought it was the tires, as they were low thread. I went ahead and changes the tires and the car still does it. Then I thought it was the tune as I have a Cobb AP on the car. I had it on Stage 1 Aggressive and re-tuned it to another stage (Stage 1 Sport) and the car still does it. I then thought it was the transmission slipping, but as I watch the times of the skip/miss I notice that it is within the gear, not going from one gear to another. I then decided to read the codes using my Carly/BMWHAT dongle and I get one message that looks like it could be something - Sorry, unknown DTC Fault - 00A900. It mostly happens when I try to take off / hit the accelerator hard. If I smoothly hit the accelerator, it does not happen. It is driving me crazy. Anyone have any thoughts on what this might be? Issue with the DTC? I also notice that the DTC says 'limited'. IS this normal? BTW, I also am in need of changing the spark plug. something else to consider as i am at 57K on my 2011 135i Thanks. You mean low "tread"?
 Yes, this sounds like DTC is misbehaving, although it could also have something to do with the plugs needing to be changed. That generally produces unmistakable misfire codes, though. I use Carly as well - try setting the "advanced diagnostic" option and see if you get anything different or some additional codes.

If you turn traction control off (hold DTC button down), do you still encounter the same issue?

Go into settings, scroll to the bottom, and select "Additional OBD Diag On". This may make the diagnosis take a bit longer than when this feature is set to "off".

My car did this at high load acceleration at rpms between 2-3.5k, especially uphill. What you're experiencing sounds like what I had. It's misfiring and throwing no codes. Mine threw no codes either. New plugs fixed it for me.

If you're still getting that "DTC Limited" error, you may want to have that looked at when you take it in for the plugs. When I had an N54-engined E92 and put in my Dinan S3 stuff, I had the plugs changed - somewhere around 37K miles, which is earlier than the recommended 60K miles. But with the additional tuning, it made sense to do that one simple thing to make sure I got the best out of my tune and other add-ons.

Update To My Issue
Well it turns out the issue was a coil. Coil #5 had corrosion in it. Everything lead to a misfire but the car read no codes. I went ahead and bought spark plugs as it was due anyway. In changing them, I found Coil #5 to have corrosion. Looks it this may have occurred because the coil was not seated properly on the spark plug. For some reason there was a small piece of plastic in the spark plug well that obstructed it just a little. I figured this out because I could not get the spark plug socket to seat properly to remove it. Once I got the plastic out, everything fell into place.
Since this was last night, I cleaned the coil out with corrosion cleaner and switched Coil #5 with Coil #1 and will buy a new coil today. This way I will easily change it. So even though the car did not throw the misfire code, that's what it was. And this only happened when I was boosting. So one last thing to worry about!!!
