Cool car. I always love the shape of those rear quarters, reminds me of a woman's hips. The whale tail is always a plus too.
How is the maintenance and reliability for air cooled engines? |

If Walter fits in it, everyone can too. Congrats, StIG. Drive her, drift her, rev her and feel the good ole times... and upload some vids for us, plebs, who aren't as lucky as you!

Sweet jesus! 13.5 quarts. I thought 7 quarts in our 3.0's was a lot
Then again, the more oil the longer it has to lose some heat before it gets recirculated.

A good friend of mine has a '86 930S flacht bau(slope nose). It's a factory slope nose car(all metal) and it's wonderful. I think the price back in the day was close to $170K. It's a rare bird. My buddy calls "it" his white elephant, jokingly. It's a very rare car. The guy he bought it from bought a even rarer 911. He got a 965 Turbo S2 slope nose. This was the last air-cooled turbo before the 993TT. It had 928-like headlights with a slope nose from the factory AND it had 959-like air intakes in/on top of the rear quarter flares. I forget how much power it had from the factor but I want to say 460 HP. I remember it had more power than the AWD 993TT did(400 HP) back then.

Really Nice car! It's pretty. I am in the market for a 911 Targa (because I like shit without roofs).
You're right about the market. I couldn't believe how it's gone up in the last 3 years. I should have bought one when nobody wanted them.

Targas are easily the most prevalent(and usually 10% cheaper), so you should have pretty good variety to pick from. Just factor in the cost of replacing the seals as most of them are shot.

Everything is currently getting pushed through the roof. 964s have stayed the most stable. 993s by virtue of being the last ones made are up to $35k-$50k for a standard Carrera. SCs and 3.2 Carreras are up 50% from two years ago. Even the mid years are getting close to SC pricing.

Congrats Stig, she's beautiful. I keep telling my boss, now is the time to buy one before they're too expensive. He's closing in on 60 years old, kids are out of college, but he just won't pull the trigger. Of course I just want it to happen so I can drive it.
