Yes I noticed that difference! It is super aggressive from the front... I just wished it extended all the way to the end.... but function is more important in this case?

True Answer: When we develop the lip, I did not see this Piece of the end plates:-) but I think, you don't look most of the time to the end plates... So don't worry :-)

So far, I haven't installed it yet, will do on Monday...however; what I can say about it is that it is quite substantial in it's design. Sturdy (and the one I chose) made out of poly, should hold up well considering it has the "potential" for a bit of parking abuse
