Fail HPFP questions??? Please help!

Hey Guys

My car sputter the other day and SES light and half an engine light came on. The car die and i have to get it town to BMW. Did not get a chance to take out my JB3. I am pretty sure it is my fail HPFP.

Do they take a look in the ECU compartment prior to changing your HPFP?

Do they update the software automatically and have to ascess the ECU?

Thanks

KD

Depends on your dealer. Mine is in for the 2nd fueling issue since I took delivery last september. HPFP replaced in 12/09 and they're doing the fuel rail this time (WTF?). Never took out my JB3 or my DCIs. No comments from the dealer or BMW. Also no "tuner codes" thrown as I don't run over map 5 anyway...

If you're not a douchebag to your dealer they likely won't be one in return. Don't go in demanding all sorts of crap for your loss of use time or free details and all sorts of nonsense and you'll likely get treated well. Go in with a piss poor attitude and you'll get the same in return. My experience anyway, as always, YMMV...

I don't think they will know anything and nothing you have to worry, but please let us know the outcome.

Well guys, i got lucky. They give me a new HPFP and do my 30K tune up without asking any question. I guess they never looking in the ECU for my JB3 and they dont care about the DCI.
