Toyo R888 on 1M

My 1M will only be driven on weekends and trackdays (car won't be driven in the rain). Can I get away with R888 semi slicks then? Are they really that noisy? Are they good tires?

Size wise I am thinking of going 265/30/19 and 295/30/19 on 9.5 and 10.5 rims.

Yes do it! I ran these on my M3 which was a weekend car and loved them. Not too loud but the grip more than compensates for the sound. Go for it and you'll love it.

R888 are a rip off! Try Hankook RS3's or Dunlop Direzza Star Specs Z1. They are more grippy and are a good street tyre. I've used these on the track and it out performs the R888's by a lot.

Are you really serious? The R888 are R comps and aren't for street driving.

R888 är both DOT (USA) and E (Europe) approved for use on public roads.
Works just fine on both dry and wet roads.

I race my car on local tracks with r comp tires (in this case R888), and I'm not interested in changing wheels going back and forth to the track.

...and I have also run Dunlop Direzza, Kumho Ecsta, and Pirelli Corsa r comp.
The fastest tire and the tire with best grip is Kumho. However, they are not good on wet when worn down a bit.
R888 works really well on wet.

Another advantage with R888 is price. Well, it was. Now R888 costs as much as Kumho and Dunlop in Europe.

The Hankooks and Dunlops may be a little more grippy while street driving as the temperatures are lower... but the R888 is the obvious winner on the track.

Yes, they are DOT approved, but not fit for everyday street driving just like Hoosier A6 and R6. I'll probably be driving mine to the track as well.
