Wrapping OEM Grills

I'd like to know if you can disassemble the OEM grills, separate the Chrome peice from the Grills, and wrap them. I have some left over red vinyl from motorcyle wrap I'd like to use. Seems easy enough though i'm just wondering if anyone had done it?

Google to the rescue. Checked out e90post and saw a few examples.
