iCARBON Mirror Overlays Fitment

I went to install iCARBON CF overlays and was surprised that the fitment was off. My overlays don't seem to cover the entire mirror cover no matter how much pressure I apply or which angle I come from. It seems to be short by a good couple millimetres all the way around. The left mirror overlay fitment seems a lot worse than my right mirror overlay.

As you can see in the photos there is a significant gap between the CF overlays and the mirror cover. I've attached photos of my mirrors covers as they've been scratched from forcing fitment of the CF overlays which are too small. I think that if I use any kind of double sided tape the mirror overlay covers will look even more out of place as you can already see the white edging of my original mirrors. The mirror covers in this thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...68#post6413468 seem to be a much better fit than mine and the gap is much smaller.

I've emailed iCarbon and awaiting their response. I have some issues with my CF lip as well.

I thought it was perfect shipment. That doesn't seem to be the case based on your experience.

I heard back from iCarbon. They said they will work to resolve this issue soon and I will keep everyone posted on what comes of this.

I'm very happy with the fitment and quality of the diffuser but disappointed with the CF mirror overlays. I also have some issues with my CF lip on the ends there seems to be a split/crack but iCarbon tells me that the lip has been extended with more material and the gap was not filled.

Anyways, iCarbon has reassured me that they will work on this issue soon.

Hey guys,

Its been brought to my attention via pm/emails/posts that there has been a couple isolated cases with fitment on the front lip. This could be due to a number of things including installation procedure, mods to the car, and issues with the lip etc. As someone mentioned above, we do gaurantee fitment 100% and any issues will be handled at no cost to the customer.

We are aware of what you guys are experiencing and are working towards resolving this issue. We will be emailing anyone who ordered a lip giving them a order status update and those of you who have already received your lips, to make sure you have no issues with the lip. If you do have fitment issues with your lip (or any pieces for that matter) please contact us directly and we will work to resolve the issue.

In the last couple of months we have been working towards increasing our quality process and production speed, and as of now we are going to use these new assets to correct any issues with the front lip. I think you will be extremely happy with the new method.

We are willing to expend any costs to keep our customers 100% happy. We have many more products on the way that are going to blow your mind in terms of fitment. We have invested a HUGE amount of capital into new manufacturing techniques that will allow us to produce pieces with perfect fitment EVERY SINGLE time. We are planning on using these techniques for the development of new products. We have decided to use these new techniques however to fix any problems with our front lips and provide replacements to ANY lip customers who are dissatisfied or have not received their lips yet.

Please check your emails for more specific details, if you have any questions or comments do not hesitate to pm/email us at chris@icarbondesign.com or sales@icarbondesign.com.

Thanks!

No, not yet. Icarbon said they will be remaking the molds for the mirror covers when they remake the molds for the lips which should hopefully be only another couple weeks or so. I'm really keen to get them on asap because my current mirrors are a bit scratched up from forcing these ones on.
