Which bmw would you buy?
I am looking to buy a project car. I will spend around 15-$20,ooo on car . Spend around 7 grand on engine mods. I want a fun nimble play car? What would you guys buy. E46 m3, 135i or 335i? I could maybe find. E92 m3 for 25 grand.

135i, because you don't need to spend 7K on the engine to make it fast, 335i if you want/need a bigger car.
spend the 7K on suspension and LSD or m30 swap a e30 325is e46 M3 has a better sorted suspension out of the box, but it you will have to spend money to make power on it |

135i by far.
At that price, the e46 is bound to be much more of a headache. Tho I think they're absolutely beautiful.

135 or an E92 M3......but just know that any E92 M3 you find for $25k will be higher miles and if it hasn't been maintained well it will need added funds for service and repair.
Other than that.....definitely the 135. E46 M3s are nice....but not exactly the most robust BMWs in terms of build quality or keeping on the road. |

You come to a 135i forum to ask which car to buy, don't be surprised when we tell you to get the 135i. Go to a E46M3 board and they'll tell you the 135i is junk and buy an SMG, Vert, E46M3.
