Open Track Day: Speed District - June 1, 2012 @ Buttonwillow Raceway (13CW)

When: Friday, June 1, 2012
Where: Buttonwillow Raceway Park (13CW)
Racing from: 8am-5pm
Drivers Meeting: 7:30am (Sharp) Try and get there before!
Participates Accepted: 50 (That is it, no one extra will be accepted.)

Your run group goes on once a hour, you should be literally getting two track days in one. All the cars around you are high end automobiles, and the owners do not want to scratch/damage their cars just as you don't want to. The incredible opportunity to receive private driving instruction from our professional drivers (Mike Bonanni/Jordan Yost) will be available on the registration page. If you're a beginner on the track, they will jump in the car with you, teach you the proper breaking points, teach you the line and assist with issues/questions/help/etc you may need;they are there for you. Even if you are a professional and just need to shave some lab time off, they are able to provide very useful advice as they do this for a living. Of course just like all the other events SD hosts, we will include a photo CD ($65 value). You can see your car in action and receive some AWESOME pictures of your car on the track. Most of our members are from bimmerpost! You are guaranteed to have a blast! Whether you are a beginner or a professional driver, our events are for you. This event is properly spaced out and broken down into different run groups (by skill), so you will feel at ease on the track. You'll be safe and surrounded by good company.

Feel free to ask any questions, I will probably answer them or someone that has been to our events before can.

Cooler, are you running the Karting day on June 2? I'm contemplating karting for saturday. What would be a good group to run in karting? I've done a little karting but not much.

There isn't much shade, most people purchase garages. I know Danny@Minicorsa will probably get one, you can split one with him. More then enough room.

Grab them quick, they are reserved through the track directly, i have no control over them.

I'm attending the karting day but I'm not the person who runs it. Just have it in my signature to help them out since they're close friends.


If you run advanced for your car then I would say stick with advanced. The best tip I can give you from the last karting day is that the karts only have rear brakes so do not under any circumstances brake during a corner since it will cause it to spin out which is extremely hard to correct, always do the braking in the straight line. But I'm sure you already know that since the same philosophy is followed for tracking cars. I would just go with Advanced and if need to be you can be moved down but I honestly think you will be fine.

Got my camber plates on FYI - they were a pain to install. Ground Control has a lot of work to do. Custom grinding was in order. The plates are really 'beta' - not ready for prime time. Wait for the Vorschlag.
