Sat Ready Professional HU installed

Hey guys... I just installed my (used eBay) Sat ready HU in my 2011 135i and I know I need to get it coded still from dealer but everything works on it; radio, iPod, Bluetooth; expect the screen is completely blank, the backlight is ON and working just no characters are showing.. Is this normal before the Satellite Radio FSC Code is entered??? Anyone try this before? Just so I know to bring it to the dealer for coding first or contact my eBay seller for a new unit.

Thanks ahead of time for any input on this!

Here's a quick update on this as well.... The radio was defective and the screen should have been working normal. So the eBay member swapped it out and got me another and it was working perfectly! Satellite and all! Until I switched modes and lost the satellite for good... Back to getting it programmed now.

OK so apparently I need a different part# for my car so I am now selling this radio on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MESE:IT

Definitely check with the dealer to make sure it will work for your car. This radio part# is 65129226405.

Did both of the radios have the Sirus dog on them? How did it work out, I am trying to add on satellite radio myself. It is really confusing.

I tried to get it coded from a local and wasn't successful but gave me some awesome features on the car for my troubles. Definitely worth the ride!

So I finally went to the dealer and they had to "program" the radio to the car. Cost me $650 and came with 1 year of Sirius.

And after seeing the dealer I lost all my cool programmed features and even my Cobb Accessport needs to be sent back to Cobb to get reprogrammed as well. My ECU use to be and FOB and now it's being recognized as a GOB. So who knows what the dealership did. My guess is they completely re flashed it and upgraded it to what a never model car might have.
