Advan at the track
Well i had a top day it was really nice to bring out the old GTR its been four years in the basement, so pump up the tyres bit of dyno work grab a trade plate and off we go. I had a ball trying all sorts of lines as that was my first time at the creek still not brave enough to crank up the boost maybe next time.
The little 335 was a joy to drive i could just biff it any where it is so forgiving the brakes are fantastic, i used DRIVE and left traction on just plant the foot and off you go. The tyres suck those factory run flats are just crap but are predictable. The oil temp went to limp on my last run as the air temp was around 26* i saw around 230+deg the GTR ran 85deg all day This will need sorting before next time 1- coil over shocks 2- tyres 3- oil cooler What a day i am still smiling Big thank you to Clinton, Great idea cant weight for the next bring it on. |

poor bastard had his own car rammed a few days ago, and then blew his main fuse on the track today. Talk about bad luck![/quote] Quote:
come next time man! How awesome was the Renault? Loved it They are supposed to be 1:10 drift cars, I hope they are any good and last awhile. Had I been a little more organised I would have gotten batteries and we could have had a mini track day in the car park with the RC cars. Quote:
I think we were blessed with nice low temps! Had a top day, thanks everyone for coming. I'm glad you put the trust in me to put on something decent! (and I hope it was, hah!) |

I think the BMW Driver training at EC 4 weeks ago, helped quite a bit.. Big thanks to Nick Kalis ( one of the track instructors ) who rode shotgun with me on the 4th session.. gave me some invaluable tips. |

Totally forgot, and would like to say THANKS to anyone who let me pass. It really did make things easier, safer and much more fun. I guess it is good when you go with people who know, there is not that ego boost thing of not letting someone through.

It would be good if the next trackday (if we do one) we could get some standardised timing. Not so much for the competetive side of things, but good to see how certain mods (or lack of) can prove their worth.
I know that its also considerably down to drivers skill, but can still be good for evaluating mods. My 2 cents. |

Drag racing is a better measure, you just want vehicle weight and trap speed.
You won't get any timing without going to a proper closed track day with serious cars/drivers. ECR and the like don't allow on the wall pitt timing. |

I thought it was the track day company not wanting to supply the timing rather than it being completely not allowed? Either way, was just a suggestion. |
