I have the regular NOKYA ARTIC WHITE fog lights. I was thinking about putting an HID conversion but it's too much. I already have the ignitor and ballast, all I need are the bulbs. But Agio E90 already done it, and he said you need to buy a Warning Cancellor. Since the HID kit takes too much energy a warning light pops on in the on board computer.

i wonder how bright the 8000k blue HIDs are. Are they bright enough to drive at night without thinking it's too dark?
I've heard the foglights are easy to change, but the light are difficult. or is it as easy as changing the foglights? Anyone know? |

Sorry, the pics don't show clearly of the fog, the source of light is just way too bright. The third picture is when my fogs were still stock, i donno if you can see the difference..its kinda hard but its the best i have.

if u notice in his picture, there are a lot of hot spots where the light hits. its not an even beam pattern. reason being is that there is too much of a bright light and its not controleld. therefor, there is uncontrolled light aiming up as well, therefor blinding oncoming drivers. which is a reason bmw and other car manufacturers dont put xenons on there fogs. (dont u think if it was a good idea, bmw would have figured it out before us?) also, do get the best output form xenon, u would need to use 4100k bulbs. any higher and the light just gets dimmer, still brighter than halogen, but whats thye point of forking cash if u cant use it to the extent it should be. ...the problem here is that foglights are best used with a bright AMBER color. notice how visibilty is great with xenons, but when it becomes rainy or snowy it diminishes quite a bit. thats fogs are there for. they light up the GROUND best during those situations. one thing i do wish the e90 would have stock, is a slightly more amberish color to its fogs, i think that would compliment the factory hid best. but i guess to amber, and it starts looking rice. joy |

If you live in an area where fog lamps provide a benefit I STRONGLY sugguest you do not change them to HID's. What you gain in "coolness" you'll loose in illumination. |

Here is mine :rocks:
First pic: Stock Second pic: Changed to aftermarket bulbs Third pic: aftermarket bulbs with angel eyes on For those who are interested, I bought these bulbs from BimmerXenon According to the product description, these bulbs are filled with 30% xenon gas. It looks even whiter than our stock xenons. From far away, these fogs showed very very bright white lights. Incredible bulbs, highly recommanded. I was so satisfied with the product that I ordered 2 more sets for my bro's E46 coupe and my friend's car. Thanks to jimmy540i for the great product.
