TIRE SIZE?

Hey guys, I am planning to get new tires for this season, I am looking to get summer tires since my car is only a summer car. I seen some guy said he put 235/265 on his 264 wheels. I seen most people run 225/255. Will the 235/265 work on my 261m wheels? What about 275 on the rear? will that work? Let me know please. All information will be helpful. I was also wondering what tires would be the best, im looking for performance summer tires and tires that can withstand alot of potholes since here in edmonton every couple meters theres a pothole. Thank you!

Maximum tyre size recommended by the tyre manufacturers on a 7.5x18" rim (front) is 225/40-18 and for a 8.5x18" rim (rear) is 255/35-18. Larger sizes can fit but are not recommended and may not be warranted against defect or failure by the tyre manufacturer.

I'm going to get the Bridgestone RE760 Sport, in those sizes. Mainly for the 340 tread-wear and decent price. My OEM rear tires only lasted 11.5k miles till toasted.
