What Have You Programmed in Your Programmable Memory Keys?
I have my home address programmed in one key, and nav voice on/off/repeat in another. That leaves me with 4 more. Suggestions?

Your house phone#, g/f #, iPod source (I think), FM station etc.
Don't forget the diamond and star buttons on the steering wheel. I'm using mute for top and source for the bottom. |

-Night mode for GPS colors ( why this isn't automatic seems like a complete oversight to me )
-Terminate guidance

Diamond and Star went away in the 2009 builds. Also, BMW finally added auto night/day mode just not to the 1 series.
1-SAT Radio presets 2- SAT Radio artist/song 3- Trip Computer 4- Nav address book 5- Nav night mode 6- Get me back home

A $100 Garmin has auto nite mode, and reads street names. BMW should be ashamed of this nav system.

With the iDrive System, you can use the 6 radio memory keys on the dash as programmable for anything you want. Just highlight something on the screen, and press (and hold) the memory key to store it. So, you have 1 touch access to any 6 functions. Could be a phone number to dial, or a location to navigate to.
I just stored the "Arrow Display" function of my nav system. When I press that, it automatically goes to split screen, with the arrow display on the right.

Just thought of two more I'm now using.
Check oil level Check tire pressure I just hit those two buttons quickly when I get in the car for the day, makes it a little bit easier.

few people know that they are touch sensitive buttons as well. Just touch one, don't press it in, and it will show you what the button is used for withough executing that function.

Here's what I have setup
1: Wife's Cell 2: Home phone 3: NPR (in the summer turns into Parked Car operation for A/C) 4: Night/Day Mode toggle for NAV 5: NAV > Work (or if out of town, that's the hotel address) 6: NAV > Home And in my opinion, this is one of the things that I really like about BMW design. Smart usage of existing systems to give greater control to the driver/passengers. This is a simple thing, but yields great results.

Good point. I've seen suggestions to put in an address nearby, rather than your actual address. But I live in a secured high-rise with a 24 hour desk, and my condo # isn't on the nav system. Still....

You have 8 programmable buttons? And #1 is programmed for 5 FM stations?
