JB3 2.0
Now running this mod. Install was really easy!!! Now i realize the traction control light remains on in 3rd gear; really is this normal? I'm running Map 5 with an AFE Intake and Meisterchaft Section 1 & 2 Exhaust. It's amazing traction contol remains off at all times now.

Sounds great. I believe traction issues in 3rd gear are pretty normal if your RFTs are low (say below 3 mm), with damp road conditions and JB3 vers. 1.3+. I finally got my JB3 last Tuesday and can't wait for the weekend to install! Were there any particularly tricky bits during the install I should be wary of? Have fun & cheers, Mad. |

I've scoured the forums and have yet to find a single JB3 owner who went in for warranty work, did NOT leave their JB3 installed, and then had the tune detected and their warranty voided.
With a BT scanner, there's even less of a chance. If I'm wrong, link the thread!

You're a Funny man MFIZZLENYC, I'm aware of the warranty issue. I have a BT cable and will remove any codes and tune for dealer visits. I was running SSTT for 2 years and never got any codes, but I was just pissed off ripping my hands to peaces getting that bloody air-filter in and out, coupled with the very difficult access to the TMAP sensor. Are you running a tune, or don't want to say????? Mad. |

if your hpfp fails and you have to get towed to the dealer, yes you can remove the jb3 but you would need to have a laptop with you at all times to clear any codes with the bt.

If you use BMW's service to get towed, do you have to get towed to the dealer? Or can it be to your house first.

There have to be some limitations, say if you are out of your home state and have a problem, they would obviously not tow it to your house if a dealership is much closer.....

The BMW tow will require it be taken to the nearest dealership. This is a real concern. The fix is getting AAA. It's worth the investment, they will tow your car anywhere you ask up to 200 miles.
Get the car home with AAA. Swap the parts, call BMW and get it towed to the dealership.
