New - JB4 G5 Complete Units Now Available!! **FREE SHIPPING**

The normal JB4 board is called the G4. The G5 has everything the G4 has in addition to:

1) A revised boost control system allowing both isolated or integrated control with no hardware PWM/duty cycle limits, etc. PWM limiting is all software/firmware based.
2) Built in crank position offset (CPS) and speed limit defeat (SLD) through additional wires that can be connected to the DB9 connector w/ the BMS USB cable.
3) An extra high current output that can be used to power a 2STEP relay, nitrous relay, etc.
4) 1.8k O2 biasing resistors instead of 2.7k biasing resistors allowing a wider range of AFR adjustment.
5) Some additional analog and digital I/O for future expansion.

JB4 PnP G5 - $529.00 On Sale for $479.00
http://www.n54tuning.com/index.php?_...d&productId=73

There is a G5 option in the product options, so make sure to specify G5 board when ordering if you want the upgrade. There is no additional charge for a G5 board versus the G4 board, but the G5 board is meant for FBO cars or those with upgraded turbos. Regular tune only or very lightly modded cars will not see any advantage with the G5 versus the G4.

Applications:

I bought my car recently with a JB4 pre-installed... how can I tell if I have the G4 or the G5?

You said the G5 board is for FBO ect. Can you still run g5 on a lightly modified platform with the intention of FBO in the future?

Is it possible for G4 owners to upgrade to G5?

Yes you can

Here is the link for the G5 Upgrade. Anybody with a JB3 or JB4 G4 can upgrade to the G5.

The G5 has only been out a few months so I doubt you have it installed in the car. The box is labelled G5 on it.

I know others have asked similar questions, but I'm still a little concerned. I have no engine mods at all. My first engine mod will be a JB4. While I don't have plans for fbo right now, I may in the future. I would like to be ready if that happens. Is there any disadvantage to having a G5 board over a G4 on a car that's not modified at all? Thanks!

Yes you can but the benefit over the G4 is only evident on the FOB cars but there is no harm with getting it on a lightly moded car.

No disadvantage but no advantage so you might as well get the G5 so you are ready when you go FOB.

You can run E85 on the JB4, but I think the G5 is better suited for that especially if you are running higher mixes (above 50%)
