I believe the release date is May 16th, so US customers can get them that day.

For ED you pick whatever date you want, you give 2-3 choices and they work around that.

My pick up date is September 1st in Munich

I was offered a March prod but I am also ED sometime in the first week of sept, so im waiting for a May/June/July prod date.....

No sorry EU mainland, I guess the first shipment for the US will be in may.

I was told late April early May would be the time to pick my 1M up from ED.

I would say its going to take a little longer (wish ill be wrong!) because I was
just reading the German forum dedicated to the 1 M and the locals whom wishes to collect their cars at Bmw welt (dealer del. april) are delayed with
2 months! So I guess its a bottleneck in Munich. And furthermore they know
nothing more and guess as much as we (foreigners)do for the moment.
