Just wanted to add this video of the HMS system for your listening pleasure.
I did not see this video in the thread already, so if it's already here I apologize.
Turn those speakers up and enjoy

We have downpipes and Rear exhausts for this car and usually have them in stock so shipping within the UK is not a problem. You do not gain much on these cars by removing the secondary cats. The primary cats are the restrictive ones.

Does anyone have the HMS system that can comment on performance gains etc? Also, what rear diffuser is that?

Thanks for your feedback, so what your saying is changing the mid pipes will give the same effect (louder sound) as changing the exhaust?

From the pictures of the axle back internals, it looks quite restrictive to me.

Mid pipe gains are well documented. My question is what is your basis for stating that there are little gains to be had from an axle back exhaust.

For anybody in the know... Is there any reason why no one has manufactured a replacement mid section pipe that does away with the two branch runs and goes with just a single 3" or 3.5" design with minimal length two branch split to pair up at the DP end?

I have heard that some of the 135i guys in race/track trim have used this exhaust type setup.

Pros and Cons?

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. It's really a bonus as it sounds awesome! The dyno operators were shocked as well, have never really seen such a gain on this car with exhaust alone
