COBB or PROcede - Pros and cons?

It is time for me to buy a tune for my car, the options are COBB and PROcede. Does anyone have any experience of these two tunes and then maybe could give me some feedback?

I will run DP, IC, intake and catback exhaust.

Thanks in advance!

I love my Cobb Stage 1+ with the V4.02 maps. Ultra smooth, drives better than stock. If you are going to ever get into big turbos/meth, you might be better off with the Procede offers some additional flexibility over the Cobb software.

Thanks for your reply! I will not upgrade the turbos nor use meth. Are there any other things to consider?

I would say the biggest difference between the Cobb package and Procede package is that the Cobb is a flash tune where you just plug the Accessport into your OBDII port to load the software. The procede requires physical hardware that needs to be installed in the engine compartment, so its not as easy of an install. Both platforms have reliable track records with procede owners reporting slightly better dyno results vs the off-the-shell cobb maps. With the Cobb software, you can get Pro-tuned by your tuner of choice and this should help close up the gap between the Procede and Cobb dyno's.

Cobb is very simple to install. Procede will take you an hour to install the first time then 15 mins or so after that. With the Cobb you get a pretty good tune but I've heard mixed reviews on the 1M. (It's quite possible that's been fixed by now). With the Procede you get a fantastic tune for the 1M which will make a bit more power than cobb and be very smooth. You also get a lot of functionality through the gear stalk levers to play with different displays etc. Procede also offers the ability to run meth if you want to at some later date. Also has an awesome tune for running e85 if you want to do that at a later date. With the Cobb you can take the car to a dyno and custom tune for you car to get closer to Procede off the self tune results.

Happy with COBB for a while now...Stage II WRX in 2005, Stage I 135i in 2010 and now Stage I 1M....no complaints, easy to install/uninstall and customer service is top notch !!

Heard great reviews on Cobb as well. Does anyone have feedback on the Burger tuning JB4 upgrade or from Kelleners? (plug and play)

It comes down to preference, but a majority of our customers enjoy the Cobb this also includes our Subaru customers.

Is there a reason why you have narrowed it down to these two tunes?

Decided to go for the COBB. The possibility to change throttle response and maps was the main decision. And in my opinion it seems to be the best flash tune right now with the most options.

I have a Procede in my stage 3 car and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. After multiple Dyno runs, I have confirmed what my butt dyno was telling me from the beginning... The Procede is down on Tq (by over 70 wtq) until about 3500 rpms. I have the dyno sheet somewhere and I'll post it up when I can, but the 1M totally stock AND running map 0 with stage 3 mods made much more Tq up front.
Top end was ok in map 1, but the change in the tq curve really makes the car feel like a tuned 135 vs the special feeling the car has stock. I'm planning on getting the GIAC stage 2 flash next week and will redyno to compare.

That really doesn't sound right at all. Have you called Shiv or Robert to discuss? What do you mean by 'stage 3'? I've never heard of that, you mean FBO? What maps are you running? I am guessing you have the wrong maps loaded if it feels weaker than stock. It should absolutely blow away stock performance. I'd strongly suggest getting in touch with them before giving up.

Happy ESS Stage 1 user here. Will go to stage 2 very soon. The handheld unit that plugs into OBDII port is a snap and I can change tunes in a matter of minutes!

I've emailed them a copy of the dyno. I'm running the latest aggressive maps for FBO without meth. The car is definitely faster than stock. What I was trying to get across is that the initial torque is gone with the Procede.

Again, I'm not "giving up" per se, just trying to see if the flash route will provided a tq curve that looks more appropriate for a 1M. Once I dyno with GIAC stage 2 loaded I will have objective data to compare the two tunes and will go from there.

I can definitely see what your saying with regards to torque on your graph. What was their response?
