How to tell what Intercooler I have...
So I put on the Injen air intake this weekend and while I was down near the turbo and intercooler I noticed on both sides of the intercooler I have Evolution Racewerks rubber couplings...
My guess is PO had one on it and when they sold it they threw the stock one back on and just used the ER couplings?? Is there an easy way to tell which intercooler I have?? |

if someone is using aftermarket couplings on an oem intercooler, that sounds like a boost leak waiting to happen. If I remember correctly, cutting would be involved. take a pic of the bottom of the intercooler, may need to remove the splashguard or pull it down enough to snap a pic. Don't tug to much on it or it will break.

also why the heck were you near the intercooler installing an injen intake.
unless you are referring to the top of the intercooler, but in that case the couplers wouldn't be up there. I'm confused.

Haha I wasn't that close but when I had the OEM intake off it was really easy to see down to where the couplings. I guess I made it sound like I was a lot closer haha. Okay I will try and take some pics when I am out of the office today. I really hope it's not stocks and I lucked out haha Edit:Wait I just re-read what you said... How are the rubber couplers that's say "ER" on them on the bottom?? Maybe I am using the wrong term? Last edited by Wolfie1; 06-20-2016 at 03:52 PM.. |

I really hope it's aftermarket and not OEM or we might have some problems |

Best would be to take off the belly pan and just look at the botom of the FMIC. As the couplers aren't the same size as the stock connections, I'd be suspicious if it was a stock unit in there.

BUT I do not have any nuts or screws on the top like this picture shows. Completely flat and smooth all the way across |
