Forgestars with Yokohama S Drives

I cannot say enough about the guys at **********s. Both Kevin Bonifacio and Bryan Breese were incredibly helpful, especially when I thought these wheels were going to rub! A+ to **********s.

Wheels (props to Philip Cormier for helping me hash these out):
Front: Forgestar, 18x8.5, +et40 offset
Rear: Forgestar, 18x9.5, +et60 offset

Tires:
Front: 245x35x18 Yokohama S Drive
Rear: 275x35x18 Yokohama S Drive

Next up, a JB3 tune, followed by coilovers and a new stereo system.

NOTE: I could probably squeeze a 285x30x18 in the rear, but it may or may not work without some modifications once I lower the car. Further, I'm not a huge fan of 30 series tires on a daily driver, so I doubt I'll try it.

No rubbing or clearance issues with stock suspension, but will definitely need some camber up front with lowered suspension. I'm hoping M3 control arms and alignment pin removal will do the trick. Being this is a track setup, I should just probably spring for camber plates anyway.

Great selection! Those Sparco Pista rims look great on your car! 245 width is probably the meatiest width I'd use for any track application.

Can you elaborate on your width comment? What is your opinion on 235s for street and track? Thanks.

Black e, spacers would take you the wrong way, not needed. As far as fitting, it would probably rub a little both front and rear, depending on tire brand. Probably a Falken or a Toyo with a fender roll would make it work. It would be much safer to use 225fr and 245 rear.

Hi all,

Wheels: APEX ARC-8

Front: 18x8.5" ET38
Spacer: none

Rear: 18x9.5 ET62
Spacer: 3mm

Tires:
Front: 225/40/18 Toyo R888
Rear: 265/35-18 Toyo R888

Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber:
Bilstein PSS (-2"), M3 arms front and rear, -1.7° front and -2.5° rear (toe in).

Notes: No cambers plates now but with M3 arms and and modification of stock plates we reached -1.7° front. We can go up to -2°.
It was rubbing on the inner side on rear, that's the reason for the 3mm spacers. Next time I'll go for 255/35 Toyo tires. Those tires are amazing but much wider than what we though. No rubbing on front except on very hard compression but I can go for wider than that wide the Toyo.

And in motion

Cheers.

I am after some help. This thread is reassuing but I have an "exact" set up in mind and need to know if it will work with NO rubbing. One thing I noted is most posts don;t say what car it's on.

The set up I need advise on if it will work is:-

135i
OZ Ultra Leggeras
Front:- 18 x 8 ET40
Rear:- 18 x 9 ET40

Tyres:
Front:- 18/225 x 40
Rear:- 18/255 x 35

I saw the exact same wheels on here (as per previous post by me, but the car was dropped and rubbed the rears)

Any help appreciated

Si
