Ordered My First Bimmer
I've been driving a Scion tC for the past 6 years now and it's time for an upgrade
I've always had my sight on an E46M or a 335i. But after test driving each and giving a 135i a try, I was sold on the 1er. My plan was to buy the car used, but since the selection for a used 135i was very limited in my area, I decided just to buy it new. I placed an order for a 2012 alpine white 135i coupe with coral red interior. The options I added were the premium package and the M package. The car is manual and is everything I wanted. Unfortunately it's going to take 14 weeks to get it. |

done the wait myself, should be a little under 10 weeks, give or take. 14 seems a bit steep. I will say when you do get the car you will forget the wait, it's that wonderful!

Have you considered Performance Center Delivery? European Delivery is even more special, from what I hear, but that affects purchase price (it lowers it) so you seem to be past that. PCD does not affect price and should still be possible. BMW puts you up the night before at the Greenville Marriott, gives you dinner and breakfast there, and you get to drive their cars around their track on the day of delivery. They feed you lunch, do a delivery on your car, and you go home. Loads of fun. And free. Your only cost is getting to Greenville. It is set up for two people/car - spouse is the most typical.

Thanks guys. The wait would most definitely be worth it.
I did the order through Costco because the price out-the-door was a lot cheaper than any of the BMW dealerships around my area. The shipping is free. So basically the rep said it would come from Germany to the BMW dealership in Georgia and then from Georgia to Florida. Can't wait. |
