Reset service intervals

I just changed my own oil and went to reset the reminder on my 2010 E82 N54 and it defaulted to a crazy interval of 1 year or 19000 miles. I watched several videos online and tried to adjust mine down to something more reasonable but was unable to get into any menu that would do anything other the rest the 19k interval for an oil change. Since I am doing my own I want to have it remind me every 7500 miles or so...

...as a side note I have a Carly BMW dongle and am about to pull the trigger on their software for android. Will it allow my to do this in the app?

FYI, service reset is extra for the Carly BMW. I don't think that it lets you specify the exact mileage/date for oil. It just does the same as resetting it through the dash.

Has anyone else encountered such an extended interval for oil service? I bought the car used and it had probably been 19k miles since it had been done....the car doesn't default to that duration does it? if I change it in 7500 miles will that become the interval or is there something squirrelly going on?
