about 1300 for the 269s from Dan. The seats are stupid expensive. If you want them that badly get some Recaros.

Cheers for the help. I thought the wheels were lighter, but with the weight above, I don't know by how much as what do the standard ones weigh ?

Seats, I have tried to find pick and prices in UK but no joy yet. Maybe I will use the phone ;o) I don't want to go to harnesses so stabdartd seat belts is good for me. Althought it sound like they may be stupid money, but it is a big weight saving

Price for one seat is 1500 Euro.
Íf you get discount at your dealer you will get one seat for like 1300 euro...

The 261 or 261 is like 1 or 2 kg more (without tires).
Weight above is also without tires.

so, 4 wheels will save me about 4 Kg's. I think I will stick with stock for the time being.

With regard to the seats "Recaro pole positions" is a good tip. Would they need new chassis or do they bolt straight on ? are there any other things to do with them, ie dfo they already have the airbags fitted and the correct plugs to wire them in etc ?

They are not Recaro Pole Position with a BMW logo on them. First off, they have side airbags. And I think the backseat reclines. (And I like the finish much better, but that's highly personal).

I was under the impression you can have these for around $5k. If you can sell your OEM power heated leather Sport seats for $2k, then they become attainable for mere mortals.

If you're seriously thinking about getting these in the US, I'd ask Dan @ United, or somebody at Tischer.

a little seat clarification: seats are Recaro sportster CS witch are available with airbags from Recaro in Europe. you cannot get the BMW performance seats in the us with out going through lots of hoops. I sat in Turner motorsports 128i with them and you loose about 3-4 inches of head room with factory bracketing. with some custom bracketing and not caring about the airbag you could probably get a set(of Recaros) in cloth for about $4500 installed.

That "weird safety feature" is a Seat Occupancy sensor in the passenger seat.

That's incorrect. BMW PS are not much lighter than stock:

BMW Power Seat (M3): 67lbs
BMW Performance Seat: 55lbs.

For the price people are paying for these, you can get a Recaro Sportster CS seat and have a big chunk of change left over.

i think you're confusing with the e46 m3 CSL seats, which used a modified pole position shell with bmw upholstery and hardware... the performance seats are made by recaro for bmw, but are not based on any available aftermarket seat.

the e46 m3 GTR did in fact use unmodified recaro pole positions...

OP: between the wheels and seats, you'll spend 7,000-10,000, and save maybe 30 pounds if you're lucky...

if you really want to save weight, get breyton wheels and aftermarket seats... breytons save like 8 pounds per corner, and standard racing shells (like pole position) would save like 45 pounds EACH. best of all, you can do all that for well under 4,000.

they say they're a BMW original by recaro, but after taking a closer look, i think you're right. at least very close. i wonder how they fit comparatively. the csl seats fit pretty different from the aftermarket version of the pole position, despite being the same shell, because the bmw version had very different pad shaping...

Amen. By the way, are you aware that your sig graphic (for the V710) says "gummetal" instead of "gunmetal"?
