TGUK - M3 v ISF
Gotta get me an M3 sedan! As expected the ISF is no patch on the M3 - no ricer will ever be....
As Clarkson put it..."You used to be a cock if you bought an M3, now you're a cock if you don't!"

Hehe, yup - That's one of my goals in life too. Will be a while though. I liked the last segment this week, but the rest of the show was a bit flat.

As for this 'cock' business, that's in the U.K and I wouldn't be going by anything the TG team says anyway, they're so full of BS most of the time, apparently now all the 'cocks' there drive Audis or Aston's LOL...each to their own  |

The R35 GT-R makes short work of all of the BMW M stable (M3, M5 and M6) and does it by a gigantic margin in just about every performance respect and on wet or loose surfaces the margin is astronomical and it costs alot less than any of the Beemers to boot !!! Then of course there was the NSX of decades ago which also embarrassed some of the best of the Euro establishment, there are others too, but I won't go on as it'll make me sound like a ricer fan truth is I love the Euro prestige marks more than any other, but facts are facts and you've got to acknowledge supremacy and give due credit where it's deserved  Also be aware of the fact that the IS-F is alot cheaper than an M3.... |

Faster, cheaper....doesn't mean anything to me. I love BMWs because they make me feel good inside

Nissan GTR, the graphics on the display designed by people from PS3 Gran Turismo.... Well are you playing the game (Nissan) or actually driving the car (BMW)

I wouldn't want the rep that comes with GTRs, every man and his dog in a ss commodore trying the traffic light drag... the rumoured service issues, no back seat, not least for humans AND it is still a Datsun.. sorry.. not.
Yeh yeh I know the Nissan kicks everything this side of a Veyron and an F18 jet, great if that is what you want. Me I'm happy with my garage, only thing missing is a DB9S . The M sedan is a real car with the practicality of 4 doors, something that may assist with a business case for submission to the Minsister for Finance, and can still get to 100 in ~5 secs. Just my two cents anyways. |

I agree with the sentiments of the above 4 posts, I have alluded to that in my own post above...
My point was to answer amk2912's comment that no 'ricer' will ever match up to an M3 - which is way off base and simply a biased remark, no flaming intended here either guys  I too will shortly be buying an Audi or BMW for most if not all of the reasons you guys have outlined in your posts above, but I do like to be accurate and unbiased towards all other car types and brands, regardless of whether I like them or not or whether I'd want to own one or not  |

Wraith, I'm with you on this. I've said before how that word winds me up since its a needless import from you-know-where. An M3 is an awesome machine, but constant comparisons about how it is "superior" is what leads to the "cock" label Clarkson levelled at M3 owners earlier. Thankfully, I agree with him that it is changing now.
Yes, the M3 is admittedly better than the IS-F on the road (on the track its even better than the C63) especially when specified with DCT, but it is not a remote patch on the GT-R. I watched and read many views on this but none more revealing than Chris Harris' views, a guy who knows a good bit about cars, owns an M3 and is openly biased towards it! What is it about in the end? Image or drive? If it is the German-built image, perhaps scrape of the "Datsun" and stick on a three-pointed star or something because it obviously drives better than the M3. Sorry for the rant..... |

At the end of the day unless you are focused solely on how it performs on the track or at the other end of the spectrum are just using it for transport.... the best car is the one makes you want to go for a drive to no where in particular and puts a smile on your dial while you are doing it... my two cents worth
Besides this years performance car of the year always gets superseded next year and the discussions/arguments start again..... |

One should get whatever makes you happy regardless of what other people think, in the end you are the one that is going to pay for and drive it.
Me, I'll get and M3 sedan for everyday and GT-R for the track |
