YEP ... I LIKE IT
Sleeker, rounder, and sportier but you still know exactly what it is. I think they have a winner.

I think that Infinity's designs begin to look dated after 2-3 years, while a 12 year old bmw (5 series especially) still looks very classy.

I think it's a mistake to essentially put the coupe design on the sedan and call that something "new". This is hardly a redesign. I wonder how much the new coupe will look like the old coupe.
Those poo-pooing on the car itself need to take the fanboy glasses off. The previous G35 was a very nice car overall and beat out the e46 for the VERY SAME awards that you guys are praising the e90 for winning. There's brand loyalty, and then there's flat out blindness... |

I think the headlights look better, like the m35.I like the interior layout better, the capet, from what i can see, still looks kind of cheap..My wife has a g35x,i think the leather and the carpet, look cheap and are put togehter cheap. It feels llike a nissan, not a luxury car.All together, this picture, does look better to me,like a mini m35.If it has even more power,it will stay competitive.I would buy this over the lexus is350,any day.I bet this car, with a sport suspension and a 6-speed manual, would be allright.I personally, would still like the bmw, except if i were looking for a coupe.

I prefer my Idrive over the new G35 nav. By the way an Infiniti dealership in downtown Monterey, CA will be closed in about two weeks due to poor sales.

Could be. I did not consider the G35 as a replacement for my E46 because 1) it did very poorly in crash tests 2) a replacement model is coming soon. If Point 1 is addressed by the new model, the G35 is a contender.

It'd kill a e90 in the straight line maybe (dunno about the 335). If not it'll be close to the 335 the n/a way (albeit .5 L more displacement). I have a 3.5 VQ in my Maxima, while the pull is much greater than in the e90 330xi i tested, it's nowhere near as fun to drive or as engaging.
There are different buyers for both cars, as Infiniti's offer better value. Bmw's are for people serious about driving and will put up a little more money to obtain a better driving experience (or for the ostentatious the logo). |

I have to agree with those criticising the 'redesign.' It looks WAY too much like the previous-generation G35 to be really considered a new model. The general look might get old and fast which is not a positive thing. And I agree, the nav unit does NOT look fun and those gauges are ridiculous. Really, now, who picked those colors?
as for performance - we'll have to see. They're doing better and better at challenging BMW and have outdone them from time to time, too. I have faith that BMW won't rest on its proverbial laurels, though. I'd say this car is MUCH more of a threat to the E90 than the new Lexus IS. People shopping for E90s might not look at Lexus' (Lexi? Lexes?) but more and more look at the G35...
