BMW Performance kit question

Does anyone know if I purchase a cobb, will it effect the performance kit that BMW installed. Can the setting be brought back to the 320 hp? Sorry, I'm pretty new to BMW performance. My last car was a 97' VR-4 many years ago. A lot has changed with turbo cars and performance.

Thanks,
Bruce

If you flash over your stock ECU then you will replace the stock software. The COBB backs it up so if you un-install the COBB you will get returned to your OEM tune, which in your case would be the PPK.

Great, thanks for that info. Do recommend the V2 or V3 COBB?

Definitely go for the v3. It's worth the extra cash.

I also have PPK and got a Cobb afterwards and can confirm what was said above. When you uninstall the Cobb your ecu will be returned to the PPK mapping

Most flash software can be flashed back same a COBB. I have flash custom tune from OE Tuning and the first thing that is performed is a backup of the original software that is on the car. Then it is rewriiten to new parameters and flashed into your ECU. But the original flash is saved for future use if desired. I had PPK1 also and now have the new flash installed same as you.
