The small gas tank hurts, but otherwise mileage for me hasn't been anything unexpected. Normally a 70/30 city-freeway mix and usually average around 19. Not too shabby considering the performance and my location. Any more city driving and traffic jams, in particular, will quickly lower that to 16 or lower.

Usually, on the highway, I'm getting around 26 - 27, but I'm cruising at between 80 - 85 with frequent bursts of acceleration to pass. So again, not too shabby. My prior car, 2010 GTI, would average between 28 - 30 on the highway under similar conditions.

What I will add is that mileage has been improving slightly as it has been broken-in, now at 9,000 miles on the ODO. The car felt incredibly tight when I first took delivery and it has been slowly loosening up. I wouldn't expect to achieve the best numbers till it hits at least 20,000 miles.

There is no native app but the web app works great. I have an iPhone and I saved it on my home screen.

Nice! I just did the same but I'm not seeing a mobile optimized site for them, just looks the same as on a computer web browser. I also have an iPhone.

Haha bingo, user error. Usually websites have it auto-toggle when it detects a mobile device so I was expecting the same. Thanks for the info

Ya I was thinking the same thing once it gets some age and things really settle in to each other. Also what's hurting me is that my drive only has a ver short highway stretch to work. I only work about 7 miles from home and only 2 are highway so I know that's not helping either. And may I just say I LOVE your car and the color combo. If black wasn't so hard to clean Ida chose the exact same thing. But with white I felt it would make the oyster look dingy because it's a slight off white so I went with what I had always wanted coral red. But hands down your color combo is sex on wheels.

One thing about these cars is how long they take to fully break in. Iy can take upwards of 20k miles for the car to fully settle out.

Another thing is their abysmal gas mileage when new. I rarely obtained higher than 20 mpg for the first 5k. Now I routinely cruise at 30-35 actual.

Give it some time. Itll get there. I average 350-400 miles a tank now with 82k on the dial.

350-400?! Only in my dreams does this car hit that on a tank

I'm also only at 18k right now, so I hope your theory is accurate!

Just happened to check mine this weekend

I made two identical round trips. One Friday and one Saturday. It was 50 miles one way (all on I-95). Average speed day one was 66.4 and 67.2 day 2. Temp both days in the 40's. Checked tire pressure 3 days ago and set all 4 on 38 psi.

Stats for each leg of the trip
Leg 1 - 29.4
Leg 2 - 28.7
Leg 3 - 29.4
Leg 4 - 29.4

I reset the meter as soon as I was in 6th gear and at highway speed. I recorded mpg at the off ramp.

All readings from car computer.

My mix of highway and city is usually around 22.4.

Car is stock except for Dinan Stage 1.

That's pretty good numbers for just highway. How many miles are on your car?

I went on a 1300 mile trip over the Holidays and averaged 30.9 mpg. It was mostly highway and had cruise set 75mph. I have 33,000 miles on the clock.

Thanks!

I will say that my prior two cars were white and that or Le Mans Blue were going to be my choice this time, but wanted something I had never had before. With that in mind, I really wouldn't say that this black car is any more difficult to keep clean than my white cars. Both would show dirt at pretty similar levels. I've been really pleased with the color in this regard.

In contrast, the Oyster leather is an absolute pain to keep clean. It needs to be whipped down at least every other week or it looks very dirty. Any spills or stains, show very quickly as well. When clean, it's an amazing looking combo, but next time I might go with an easier-to-keep-clean combo...

I think you mean "wipe". Whipping you leather seems a little too kinky to me.
