I remember reading that happened to someone else on here within the last year. Don't know why. I lost my rear tow strap hook cover in the car wash (I know I know) but was able to get them to shut down and recover.

You could possibly get the dealership to replace it for you once since you haven't been in an accident or anything and parts shouldn't just fall off the car. Failing that order a new one from getbmwparts.com (Tishler BMW) or Pelicanparts.com

Sorry man.

Just noticed your in Tiawan. Not sure if those places will ship there, but dealer will be able to order another.

Its just a flat plastic piece that pops into that space.

You just have to pop it back in and its really simple. Just FYI if its the passenger side you may not be able to get your hand in there so just use a long screwdriver/ratchet extension/crescent wrench to press it into place.

Ive attached a pic of what it looks like

That pic through the missing filler looks like a freaky view into a parallel universe.

I had a similar piece pop out of my performance side skirt. Ordered a replacement from ECS for a whopping $11 but think I need to remove my skirts to put it back in. Looks very weird without it, like the pics in the OP.

I had the same problem on the rear left hand side one. It popped out when I was having my car washed and it fell off. I took it to the dealer when my 10K km service was due and they put it back in.
Luckily for me it didn't fall off when I was on the move!

I have the part number for the piece missing from the side skirt. The piece you are missing is different. Best to check realoem or try searching the Ecs tuning website.

If that were my car I'd take it up with warranty though.

I removed them while detailing my car so I could clean the area better. That was a mistake. The one on the left side goes in pretty easily because you can access the bumper from the back. The right side, however, was much more challenging because access to bumper from the back is very limited (you have to push the piece in from the back to re-install it). I ended up removing four screws from the right rear fender liner so I could get my hand back there. Even then, there wasn't much space.

I don't know if it is necessary to remove the wheel - I had it off already to clean the barrel. I also don't know if the top screw needed to be removed (#1 on the image below).

Here are some pictures.

That's a charitable way of putting it. Thanks.

Once I started trying to put the right side back in, that's not the word that came to mind.

It's definitely not worth it. Don't do it.

Funny, I remembered you posting about that and was going to mention it....

I am always careful washing and drying the bumper as a result of your post!

Some others have lost a plastic insert too. Maybe they can provide the part #:
