Mechanical Boost Gauge Fomr The Throttle Body Space
Hi friends.
i going to install a throttle body spacer drill it and install a nipple, and from there thake the boost and vacume signal for my boost gauge, the question is that i dont know if the afe TB spacer that is made for the N54 can be install in the N55 TB, can some one tell me if the N54 and N55 have the same Tb size, to see if i can buy the N54 spacer and install it to my N55. yes i know that i can drill the charge pipe and take the boost form there but the vacume, i have 2 option the AFE and the Zerg ind. so please if some one know the size of the Throttle bodies please let me know. Sorry for my english im from Colombia, South America. |

I would not bother with the throttle body spacer. It is junk.
Not sure you can actually get a vacuum signal on an N55. It's a Valvetronic engine, so there is generally little vacuum created by the throttle plate. I think it's just there as a backup in case of Valvetronic failure or for special circumstances, maybe someone can elaborate on specifics. There's a separate electric vacuum pump to supply vacuum for things like the brake booster and boost control. on goolge they send me to the P3 boost gauge but that one works with the ecu signal no a real read of PSI.

It is just as "real" as any other boost gauge.

Actually, that's not true with a Cobb AP flash. It's one of the advantages of a reflash over a piggyback. The ECU knows you are actually running 16psi, but it has been reprogrammed to accept that as being OK.
