Also got mine a couple of days ago.
I'm a bit worried about the carbon overlay on my wheel, is the installation going to damage it ? |

I got a letter.
I swapped my 128i steering wheel to msport - any concerns when doing recall? Will the techs make a comment to not carry out recall?

I don't think anyone would really notice and more importantly I don't think anyone would care. Remember that the dealer is getting paid to do a quick swap that to them is all gravy. They don't have to justify this warranty/recall job in anyway to BMWNA. Easy money for them.

OK, my car is still in "winter storage" mainly because I've been very busy doing things around the house. Today I did the "M" demo drive at a local dealer (M3 & M2 6MT) then made an appointment for June 27th for my recall. Two hours, done while you wait.

Update
My recall was done June 27th. Good weather and tech did it in parking lot. Took less than 15 minutes I think. Did request the car wash-was in and out in exactly 37 minutes (even with the car wash).

Airbag
Taking my car in next week. As usual, dealer rep says they need car all day.
I am fed up with BMW dealer. More to come after this job is done......stay tuned. (They'll be upset when I tell them I don't want their $180 oil change.) |

I have received the mail two weeks ago - forgot to book an appointment earlier - now I have to wait until Jan for the new batch of parts (Toronto)
If you don't call early... well you wait |

I got the PCV heater letter in the mail (around the first two weeks of August) and called to make an appointment, at which time they told me they could also do the airbag. All done on September 8th.
Policaro BMW if that helps anyone. |

Air bag recall done
My recall was done last fall.
The dealer is a joke when it comes to "customer service". They spent millions on the building but treat customers like dirt. I made an appointment for 8:30 am for airbag. They said they need the car all day! I told them I would wait. Sat in their waiting room for 2 hours. Got my car back at 10:45 am. They said my 8:30 appointment means they can do the job anytime that day. And they wonder why people hate car dealers. |

I have had reasonable service from a local shop that has experienced BMW techs so I can avoid the dealer for most needs. I do most of my own maintenance and car has not needed much.
