Roof trim - loose?
Hi guys,
just a quick question, sounds a bit silly, but it was a comment one of my rear seat passengers made whilst playing "rear roof console" over the weekend (I mean its not like I sit in the back right) - the one with the rear map reading lights. Noticed there was a lot of "give" in that the console when pushed could be pushed that little bit further into the roof, as if the console hadn't been secured properly. Anyone else had this? I think a trip back to my dealer is in order, I'm guessing a clip has come loose. Just checking to see if this was either: 1) the norm - would be surprised if it was 2) there was a "quick fix" - ie push hard till you hear a "click" 3) or - oh heck a warranty job.......... Thanks Oh PS - its the anthracite headlining, if that makes any difference. |

Well for one I was a bit embarassed..............
But my question is this - is this normal on the E90? I would have thought the rear console to have no give at all - "flat against the roof". Wanted your opinions before I storm off to the dealer complaining about trim when it could be like this on all E90's. Tah very much |

I was detailing my interior this weekend and I noticed this as well as I was cleaning the grease marks off of my headliner that the tech at my dealer decided to leave in there. It does have quite a bit of give but I believe this to be normal. Unless it starts making a sound I wouldn't worry to much about it. Just be sure to tell your friends to stop playing with your headliner lest you want greasy fingerprints all over it.
EDIT - I noticed you have the anthracite, lucky you. You shouldn't have to worry about smudges and marks assuming its black. |

While I was changing out my interior light-bulbs, I noticed the same thing.
Just like 325Driver said, I wouldn't worry about it unless it makes noise.

Surprised to see it being the norm.
Not that I'm ever a backseat passenger in my car Wouldn't have even known had an inquisitive passenger who was poking around (cubby holes, lights etc etc) commented that it was a bit "springy" No definitely no noise from there, and personally I don't mind it being "springy", if it's the "norm" then okay then........just seems odd for a premium car Thanks for the feedback guys, saves the dealer getting a hard time |

DWUK: Sounds to me that you need to keep your rear passengers in line...
