JB3 caution
For those of you who are running the JB3 on the higher maps (7 and UP ) beware..
I have heard from a friend who has been running map7 constantly that he has thrown a cel code, limp mode.. Engine check light came up with"Engine Failure" warning with reduced engine power. For those with a BT tool the code thrown was- 30FE:/30FF: 30FE Exhaust fume turbo charger, high pressure side. EXPLANATION: ECU boost over ECU target. FIX:Generally related to tuning. It may be a sign to reduce boost level or disable LAGFIX. Also can be caused by boost leaks, leaky DV's, broken vacuum lines etc. They replaced the sensor and now car good as new.. Do not run map 7 on 98RON gas! Terry recommends max map5 on US 93 which is equivalent to our 98RON.
Also, this is where the advantage of PROcede comes in. It won't run the boost if the car can't handle it.

Just a code ID post.. Map7 is safe to run on our 98RON, as he has been running Map7 for the past 18months with no probs until now. |

Pretty common code if the tune is too harsh for the mods or conditions encountered.

I agree its common and it is not related to only one tune because I have had it. I cleared the code and have not yet been back to BMW as the car seems to be running fine for now and I am due for a service soon anyway.

The first time this code was thrown, it was cleared with the BT tool and car was fine.. Four weeks later, same code came up, but this time, 20% in power reduction noticed at WOT, hence off to the dealer for inspection and replacement of faulty turbo pressure sensor.
