Lowest offset without fender roll

I just picked up a sweet deal on some wheels I thought has a 40mm offset. Turns out they are 30mm.

Wheels are 18x8, I am not trying to put a super wide tire on them. I am thinking 225/40 all the way around, but 215/40 is a possibility as well. Does anyone know if this will work, or will I be rubbing?

Would most likely have to try 215/35/18 all around. And even then it may not even work because Et30 in the rear is pretty aggressive.

my winters are 17x8 ET40 with 225/45 all the way around, and it looks OK in the back. It is the front that I am most worried about. There seems to be a bit more room in the back.

Front might be fine. I'm 19x8.5 ET37 front and running 215/35/19's with no rubbing. Lowered as well. It's the rear you will have problems with on low offsets.

I am not lowered, and have no plan on lowering, but I do have the sport package. I was doing some math, and from an 8.5" ET37 to 8" ET30 there will be a 1mm difference in fender clearance. How much clearance do you have between your fenders? I would prefer to have 225s but for that I would need an extra 6mm clearance over what you have, but I think that since my car is not lowered that should help.

I think these wheels might work...Hopefully.

Anyone else have experience with these offsets? I am hoping to get some more info before buying tires, and testing it out.

off thread, but do you think you can rin 225 with your fronts? trying to run a similar offset.

what are your rear specs?

and also what tires are you wearing?

Need to be careful about reaching conclusions based on wheel offset. That's a starting point. The tire width also factors in since they are wider than the wheel.

Hmm... That front sizing is more aggressive than I'd recommend for your 1-series. It's gonna possibly pose problems with clearance for you.

ET40 is a good fitment for 225s. I think 215s with ET30 will look weird, so I would sell them if it was me.

This thread is from December, and I have already sold the wheels since I want a proper fit.
