Future Plans for your 1ers

Just wondering what turbo tunes ppls have up here. I'm looking to get a SSTT with an afe intake. We'll see how that goes. Looks wise I would like to eventually get my car looking like the 135i tii. They bmw performance exhaust is so tempting but I read that you have to cut and I am against that. Let me know what you guys plan on doing.

I drove around for a bit with the axle back off because I was considering making something and wanted to see what it was like as is. It was pretty loud.

Have Dinan Stage 2, Afe Intake, And BMW performance exhaust. All I can say is this combination is fast and amazing.

How much was the dinan tune? How much of a hp increase do you get from it ?

I plan on replacing the suspension with aftermarket when the stock struts go, same plan with rotors. Probably keep the stock wheels but replace the tires with non-runflats (re01's) when they wear out. I'll consider a tune and a turbo back exhaust would be nice but not for a while yet. No real plans for cosmetics, maybe a black grill but not a priority. I'll pop out the orange reflectors as soon as somebody shows it can be done.

Yo Edmonton! Already have the BMW Perf body kit, exhaust, and carbon goodies on mine (exhaust is perfect, not too loud when cruising around, loud when you put your foot into it). Will decide on what software to throw in it in the next month or so

Did you cut have to cut the exhaust to install the Performance exhaust? If not i would definitely consider buying one.

Hey Rida...I have the Performance stuff on mine(minus the Wheels, ordered some custom 3piece Vorsteiners, and CF Diffuser-overpriced) as well as an SSTT, RR DP's....I want another exhaust but not until someone comes out with something that doesnt delete the secondary cats AND has the same color tips as stock. As for intakes the jury is still out. It is hard to get good dyno/data so far from the ones available on the market and the data that is out there consists of phrases like, "It sounds great, I am sooooo happy" or "It feels better and revs better". So like I said jury's still out on that stuff. Only advice I can give is do good research before you fork over the cash....

Nice mods adrean8j, Yah i agree with you on the intakes. I like the stock black exhaust tips too but its just so quiet. I want something not too loud when driving normally but sounds agressive when i'm giving full throttle.

I do not know what was involved in installing the BMW Perf Exhaust, it was already on the car when I bought it;

I'm getting a Helene drop in filter instead of the afe intake for now. I have read some good things about it and decided to give it a shot. The intake box is well engineered so i'm thinking that the filter will make it that much better and prevent heat soak unlike the afe intake. I love the look of afe intake but i'd rather take functionality over looks. I 've read that the intake give 13whp over stock and saw the dynos. Pretty impressive for just a little mod. We'll see how it goes and i'll you know my opinion.
