If they were REALLY smart. They would start the 128i off @ 25,000 and the 135i @ 30,000.

They would sell a million of 'em. (I would buy 1 for absolute sure)

My guess...BMW NA will not get the 128i MSRP too close to the MINI Cooper and the same appplies to the 135i being to close to the base MSRP of E90/E92 328i.

I would hope that those numbers comes true. The 128i would probably be slightly faster than the MINI Cooper S (which starts at 22,000) so that the price differential between the two would be understandable. Likewise, the MINI buyer and the 128i buyer arent the same people especially considering the MINI's fuel efficiency which no matter how good the 128i, will be at least 7 mpg better.

My hope is that a 135i starts at 32,000. That is about the same as a 328i leaving a good model overlap. I could leave with 35,000 but 32,000 would be a huge plus.

I think the N54 engine alone will necessitate a price of 35K, nicely optioned out. Which is substantially cheaper than my E92 328i....

I’m betting about $28k for a 128i and $34k for a 135i and quickly ramp up on options. I’d take one with just sport package, leather and comfort access.

I hate the idea of single side exhausts!

I don’t why they chose to keep the exhausts at left side only! Where actually the twin turbo engine have 2 exhausts outlets!

I photoshoped the exhausts and I think they looks better when splitting them!

I love it!

PLUS SIDE
  • The single piece taillights are perfect. I have an E46 with the two-piece. I like them, but not as much as these.
  • Nice choice on the style of rims and 18" standard size. They will be easy to keep clean!
  • The instrument cluster is excellent. 2 perfect large round dials.
  • Push button start will have to go on me. Button I like it.

NEG SIDE
  • I don't like the shark fine antenna. Tear it off now!
  • They could have done something a little more interesting with the white side marker. It looks like the same side marker on the face lifted E46s. They should have designed a new one.
  • The trunk looks a little small. A set of golf clubs will be a tight fit or might not fit at all.
  • The engine looks like it doesn't have a dipstick like the 335i. This may cause some problems.

All in all, I think the good totally out weighs the minor negative details.

Excellent car BMW!

Those interior pics are from the 3 door hatch me thinks.. the window dont look right for the coupe and the 3 door is white in the literature.

Infact I just checked my 1er 3/5 door literature and the interior pics are lifted str8 from that brochure.

The single sided outlets has been classic BMW for many, many years. I do agree the 335 exhaust outlets look better on the 135. Oh well, it is not going to happen now. BTW, the 335 has 2 cans. It has to be a weight related issue.

*Edit: As previously mentioned The N54 535i has single sided dual exhaust outlets.*

That's what I'm getting at. Its causing quit a stir of commotion amongst the 335i owners. How would you feel if you couldn't check your own oil? The car just tells you it may need oil, but you have no clue as to how much to add, a 1/4 quart, 1/2 quart, whole quart, etc... This would drive me nuts worrying. I do all my own repairs on my E30 and E46.

BMW might as well weld the hood shut.

I have experienced it with my '06 E90 330i. It also has no dipstick. While it has not been an issue, I also still change the oil every 3,500 miles (fresh oil is cheap insurance). Relying solely on a sensor is absurd! I would prefer to have a dipstick or both, dipstick and via the OBC.

I also have done my own repairs/maintenance on my E30s, E34, E36, and E46, but so long as the E90 is under warranty I let the Center service/repait it.

M Sports Package Amiss?

From everything that I have read so far, the M Sports Package is supposed to include (aside from what we cannot see): Anthracite roof lining, M logo doorsill trims, an M leather sport steering wheel, an M logo footrest for the driver’s left foot, special rocker sills and foglamps. None of the pics show any of these elements. Can someone shed some light? Otherwise, I do not think that we have seen everything yet...

While it's under warranty is fine. But I'm looking to buy out right. What happens after the 50K or 100K warranty runs out? I still would like to know where I stand with my oil level on a weekly basis.
