Windows Tint
Hey guys,
I have a space grey 128i and i'm thinking on tinting it! What % do you guys recommend!? What looks best with space grey. Also, what's nicer, black tint, charcoal tint or chrome tint? Thanks! |

I have 20% on my space gray and it looks perfect. No visibility issues and total privacy.

20% is the perfect tint imo, but 30% is the lowest I'd go for legal reasons.

thanks guys but for legal reason I can't go past 70% on the side!!!!!
I think i'll go 50% on sides and 35% in the back... I hope it will be worth it. I guess it will keep the classy look |

Im going with 50% on the sides, and probably 20% on the back. Its as dark as I can go legally here in Ohio.
I just need to find a place to do it. |

If you are worried about the legality of it, but still want it to look good, I'd go 35% all around. Thats what I had in my C-class for 2 yrs in a 70% state and had no issues. Doing different tints front to back looks almost worse than no tint IMO.

I have 30% on my space gray 135i, and it looks great. the privacy is perfect. once in a while night visibility gets a little tough, so I would not go any darker than 30%.

I've having the same issue deciding. My wifes ML's side windows are as dark as the factory privacy glass and is kind of a bitch at night. I was looking for a nice and classy compromise for my white 135. Not really looking for privacy, just a nice tint to cut the sun/uv rays etc.. Anyone have pictures w/ % of tint they have used on Alpine White???

Lol are you wearing polarized sunglasses? They give certain holographic effects when looking at car tint sometimes!

You'll be fine - the tint is on the inside of the windows.
Plus as long as it says tint safe then it should be - my can of stoners for example says safe for all OEM glass and most tint types... imagine the cheap dyed ones might have an issue but I doubt quality tint would be affected. |

What are you driving naked hookers around in ur back seat??
Legal limit in NC is 35%, which im happy about cuz i used to live in PA where i believe it was 65% Im getting my sides and rear done 35% black ceramic tint and the windshield with the clear 99% UV blocker ceramic tint. Dont think I would want to go lower than 35% even with a lower legal limit, would just mess with night driving too much, cant have that. Plus seems to me that 35-40% is the perfect balance. |
