Jalopnick: 1M The Ten Least Depreciated Cars Of The Last Ten Years

http://jalopnik.com/the-ten-least-de...ears-215315708

#4 BMW 1M

4.) BMW 1M - Lost 0% or $0

Surprise! A limited-production, high-performance BMW hasn’t appeared to depreciate at all.

A bonus on top of owning a car I actually really enjoy driving and one that did not break the bank and came w/ a full warranty (as opposed to used P-cars I was considering). For once my car affliction isn't totally ruining me financially.

And if you want a random reminder of a couple of reasons why the 1M is holding pretty well its value, then read this:

Actually, it is sharing third with Audi R8 and behind only Enzo and GT 40, not bad for a parts bin car.

I'd definitely say they're appreciating.

This has to be a new record? $71,995?

Great, I had JUST gotten over the guilt of spending money buying it, and now I feel like I should sell it before the market changes. LOL.

I am in it for the long haul no matter what the price does. I consider myself lucky to have paid only 5k over sticker near the end of the US production run. I walked into my local dealer and they had ordered their allocation so they wouldn't lose it . . . car was already on the way and unspoken for which put me in the right place at the right time!

The 1 M, however,
also beat out the $126,900 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG with its Apollo 11-like 550 hp, as well as

the 470-hp Chrysler 300C SRT8 and the 426-hp Camaro convertible. This underscores that horsepower alone is not always the most powerful bullet for winning the Performance Car category — indeed,
the Hyundai Veloster with its paltry 138 hp somehow
beat the 201-hp Honda Civic Si
as well as the 470-hp Dodge Charger SRT8.

It also shows that many AJAC members see versatility, usability, ergonomics, comfort, space and overall vehicle dynamics as being equally important.

That's a rather lengthy description for merely "We fancy good sex on wheels".

I went from a track car needing a new S14 ($$$$$) motor to full warranty.

Aside from two mods, (Arc-8 wheels and camber plates) I haven't had a single operating expense other than consumables like tires and fluids... i like it...
