Tire place jacked up car via undertray, loud CRACK.
I went to get a flat repaired this weekend, and they jacked the front car up via the undertray. I heard a loud CRACK, the guy lowered it, slid the jack back, and jacked it up again without issue.
Any ideas what the CRACK could have been? What's under the tray that could have snapped? It didn't look like there was any damage to the tray itself... Fing idiots... |

My wife came home from a local oil change place one day trailing a line of gasoline that stretched all the way back to the store a mile and a half away. We quickly turned off the car, shutting off the internal pump, and gas stopped gushing out (which probably explains why nobody noticed it before she drove off), but they'd split the gas line by misplacing the lift jack. They had to tow is back to the store to fix it.
Doesn't sound like the problem here, but just goes to show how important those lift points are.
