Best wheel set up?

Hi guys, I'm new here! First BMW and I love it! Just bought a 135 m package convertible 2012. I'm not new in tuning but each car has his own personality! So I would like to know, what is the best wheel set up we can but on this little beast? I will go on h&r coil spring witch drop 1.7 front and 1.4 rear. Do we need a camber kit put back wheel aligned? Or it does not affect the camber at this low? And now the wheel, what you guys suggest pour the set up? I would like to run 225 in front and 245 or 255 rear, with a good aggressive set up, but that don't need fender work. Or at least, just to roll them, no pull.

Thank you guys!

Welcome and congrats!

I would suggest browsing the vendor section and also the photo/media section to help you get an idea of exactly what wheel options are out there. A camber kit is NOT required, however, it is useful if you want to dial in everything to your preferred specs.

We have plenty of options for you to choose from. Much of our lineup allows you to run 225/245 tires, this setup sits flush without any rubbing issues. Our V702s and V810s in particular are offered in higher offset options so you can run a 265 to possibly a 275/285 in the rear.

I'm more a fan of looking that tracking, so I was thinking to go with 19", like the Vossen wheel. 19x8.5 225-35-19 front and 19x10 255-30-19 rear. + 45 and + 58 offset I think for front and rear.

I don't think function is their focus.

17" sizing is not offered as of yet. However, we do have our 18" Flow-Formed V810s available for you

You want to go from an 8000 ton forged wheel to a cast wheel?

Which is definately is on the top of casting techniques, but is not an 8000 ton forging process.

It would be very nice to have a rear offset in the 58 range.

Flow-forming is not a casting technique. It could be considered a forging technique (just the barrel is worked). It is just not a closed-die process, like your BBS or his Volk wheels.

Is the stock not cast? I was under the impression it was before it was flow form lathed?

The stock is cast, but then again the stock for close-die forging on an 8000 ton press is cast as well. Flow forming works the structure and refines the grain size of the barrel just like closed-die forging. The hub/spoke of the wheel is not forged with flow-forming like in a closed die forge, so it would still have a cast structure. Therefore, flow forming is better than casting alone, but not necessarily as good as a closed-die forged wheel.

Ah, clears that up. Explains why my flow formed wheels bent, I didn't realize the spokes were so compromised. The more you know!

It's also not the same price as a fully forged wheel from a company like Rays.

Either way, the point is that the manufacturing technique is only a part of the story when it comes to strength, and all of our wheels adhere to the same type of standards that you'd find for other other brands of wheels.

I hear they can be a pain as they test each fitment individually.
