E82/E88: 2014 models?
June/July 2013 production--Does anyone know if the cars will still be available for purchase? My 11 128i vert lease is up in July and I am aiming at getting a 135i vert. I plan to order one in May.

I don't know for sure, but all signs seem to indicate that MY2013 is the end for the E82/E88. There will surely be dealer stock available when your current lease is up, but if you plan to order a new car, you may not have too much more time. Check with your local dealer to find a concrete answer for the EOP date of this great chassis, the last of its kind.

To echo Simian, as many of us are in the same position as you, since they are starting production on the 2-series in November, doesn't look like there will be a 2014 model.
Since your lease is up in July, I would say you should order one in the next few weeks and sooner rather than later to make sure you can get what you want. It likely wouldn't get here til mid to end of June and BMW will usually pick up your last payment or two if you're going from one BMW lease to another. There are several people here that waited and when they went to place their order, suddenly the exterior or interior color they wanted (blue water metallic or terracotta leather) suddenly were gone and unavailable. Not worth the risk, order what you want now and have piece of mind. Not worth leaving to chance. Just ask the couple of people who recently ordered right after terracotta leather was no longer available March 1. |

Talk to your BMW dealer. They can get you out of your lease now and into an ordered car of your dreams - before the 1er's go out of production.

Why not wait for an M235i?

I think we have a pretty good idea of what they're going to do, which is why a bunch of us are ordering our 1's now before they mess things up and we can't get them anymore.

Bingo. At the very least, the 2 Series will almost certainly have electric steering and that stop/start crapola. And for those us ordering a 128i, the allure of the lovely, naturally aspirated straight six will be gone, maybe forever.

Wow, that far out? That's the thing, the allotments dealers are getting seem to be less and less and I had to go to 3 dealers just to get an open allotment to even place an order, and to get that the dealer had to try to talk to his West Coast rep and get an extra one for me.
The takehome message I suppose is if you know what you want, go ahead and order it soon, will take a few months to get here, and you aren't committed to it, but at least exactly what you have is here and you have that in your back pocket if you then want to get it. |

Blue Water is gone...I found a 135i vert at a BMW dealership in KS. Blue water m sport and oyster. 51k. It's a July 12 production date. New car though. Not sure how long it was sitting there.

Ask your dealer, they might be able to find another blue water convertible perhaps. I'm confused though cause you said it's a July 12 production (of 2012?) Guess it has to be. If it's been sitting there that long, you could likely send a low offer to take it off their hands and they'll probably take it. Then may just be a few hundred bucks to have it shipped? Or your local dealer might be able to do a trade for that one and get you a great deal.
Were you looking for oyster interior? Here's one in Vegas with black interior: http://www.desertbmwoflasvegas.com/V...-NV/1922046933 |

When did BLue Water get discontinued? March 1?
I noticed the one in Vegas, but I'm not too keen on that color combo. The one I found with oyster is at Baron BMW. It is a 2013 but was manufactured in July 12 |

Ya, saw the one at Baron. Bluewater and terracotta leather both hit end of production at the end of February.
I'd call or e-mail over there, wheel and deal, see what they'll do. CLEARLY they've had it forever if it was produced July 2012 as one of the early 2013 models. Means they must have had it since maybe September 2012. The lease rates (haven't seen april though) are amazing right now on the 135s, and they'll maybe take 5k off sticker, too as that's what people are getting off on their new ordered ones. So, if it's the combo you want, has the options you want, etc. I'd try to get that one unless you can find another similar one somewhere. That might be better than ordering a new one, especially if that's the color you really wanted. Might be your last chance unless one or two in that color are delivered soon from february production dates. |

Ill have to focus on that car, not sure if it has HK sound or a moonlight top..don't remember but those are 2 ideal options I would be after, however if I can get 5k off sticker I shouldn't complain! (I'd be putting around 5k down on the car too - lease).
Thanks for the insight. |

If you scroll down it has:
Not sure about the top though. As your financial advisor though I would advise against putting $5k down on a lease unless you really intend on purchasing it at the end, cause that's a lot of money to put down for a lease. But, I'll leave that up to you and depends on your own situation. Hope that helps, though I'll be mad if you then end up getting your car before mine arrives in a few weeks. |

So many reasons. Potentially, styling (though I'm sure it'll be better than the current euro M135i). Start/stop, electric steering, drive-mode selection, fake engine noise coming through speakers, just to name a few others. It will be a monster performer, though, no doubt.

Didn't even think of this one. Great point. No shortchanging the turbo 4, but if that's not what you want, then order now!

Thanks for the insight. If I opt against putting $5k down..would I still be able to get a good deal? I want to get the payments low and close to the $398/mo I'm paying for my 128i vert. I'm hoping I could swing a deal somewhere around $430 a month. That's why I though I should put $5k down. On a side note: My BMW dealership is a familiar place to me & my family. My dad is BMW CCA chapter president in PA, a chairman in the BMW CCA for 30+ years. My sales man sold me my 128i vet, my mom 2 128i verts, and my dad's 1M. The sales team is easy to talk with and always chat with my parents. My brother probably would have bought a car there too but he has 2 nice E30 318is's and 1 pristine E30 M3 which he spends his money on lol. I'm not too worried about negotiating and I know that they would go get that Blue Water 135i vert for me. We'll see what transpires this week. I'm going to stop by the dealership tomorrow. I know I may get my E88 before you get yours, but that is only because I'm stubborn about the color of my cars lol. I'd love to order a E88 again...It was an awesome experience. I've looked hard at Alpine White, Lemans Blue, Jet Black, & Mineral Grey for the past few months...It's tough..I keep going back to Blue Water. I just have a thing for light blue bimmers. My first car, a 1988 325i is cirrus blue/grey, and is also something I've owned for 16 years! - Just had to upload a photo [I]I'll keep everyone posted on my progress. I'm not sure what the future holds. All I know is that I want a E88 again![I]
