no parts changed, just coded. If the coding goes wrong, yes, im sure it will affect your warranty. Find someone In your area who can do it, or look into doing it yourself

Do you have specifics on which line(s) of the trace file need editing? I have NCS and a cable and really want to make this change.

unfortunately I do not have specifics, as someone else did the work for me. I was surprised this can be done, as I have done research on coding, and have not seen it mentioned anywhere else. The guy who did it for me has ties with some BMW dealers. Ill pm you some info.

Thanks for the PM. This is encouraging.

The coding trace files are all in German and I don't speak a word of it, so deciphering it can sometimes be tricky. Thanks to Google translate I may have found the line of code that needs to be changed. "Standheizung" apparently means "park heating."

I'll give it a shot and report back.

Just tried changing "park heating." I didn't work.

Toronto, WTF!? Can you confirm your re-coding actually worked as intended?

On my 2013 135is, I do not have the "rest" but "all" button. However, the "parked-car vent" mode is much more valuable in warmer climates. IMO, the opposite to your "rest" button.

You can manually access it or set it up on a timer via idrive .

1. "Settings"
2. "Climate"
3. "Activate parked-car vent."

Interesting never heard about this feature, wonder if I can access it given I don't have idrive.
