East coast ED delivery?

At what port was your ED car delivered?
Mine is showing Newark NY.
People on same ship are showing the Carolinas.
Are Ed cars handled differently upon reaching the states?

For what it's worth, I'm doing PCD and my car was sent to Newark, not South Carolina.

Hey Doyle,

My CA informed me that all ED cars going to the East Coast must go through NY, I would have liked Charleston.

I'm doing PCD on the 26th and my car will be in route via truck to Spartanburg shortly.

IIRC, it takes 1-4 weeks to go through customs and 1-3 weeks to go through VPC, and then another 1-2 weeks to get on a truck and to get where it needs to be...I'm not sure about those though, I read them somewhere on bimmerfest

Timeline

For an ED redelivery,I usually see the cars back in the midwest about 30 -35 days from the drop date in Europe. It's 14 days on das boat and about 2 more weeks between customs and arriving here as long as there's no damage. You can usually add another 2 weeks for PCD depending on how busy they are.We notify the PC as soon as the final paperworkwork is completed, signed and settled as to when the customer is dropping the car in Europe,so they have an idea of when to expect it in the US.All east coast, southern and midwest cars have to clear customs in NJ,all west coast cars take an additional 2 weeks and end up in Oxnard,CA for redistribution.

If it's a stateside delivery, most of the cars go through Charleston, except for the west coast cars.Normal delivery time should be 30 days from the day it's produced and for west coast, add 2 weeks.East coast cars usually end up in NJ.

If you're thinking of getting a BMW,be sure and join the BMWCCA,it's about 76. for 2 years and not only will you start getting Roundel, but you'll be invited to all of the local and National events. In addition, once you have been a member for 12 months prior to your purchase or lease, you'll get rebate money back directly from the club.I think it's 300 for a 1 series,500 for any 3 series or X3,1K on a 5 series,6 series or X5 and 1500 on a 7 series......not a bad return on your small investment.

Unless I'm mistaken, there are several threads already that say no BMWCCA rebate for 1-series and X6...

My salesman told me that PCD was not available on the 1 series. I would have LOVED to do that. I guess he was blowing smoke up my rear huh? I think it's probably too late to change things, my car is en route already

By in route do you mean to port or your dealership? If it's port you should be able to change the final destination to PCD.

Because of my wife's teaching schedule I was not sure if PCD would work until my 1 passed through customs. Once my car was released and the timing worked, I directed my 1 to PCD. You should be able to do the same.
