I did it last night
Last Thursday I drove the 135i with an AT. I won’t go into a review since it would be saying the same thing as many other have reported here. I did like the AT paddle shifters but the MT is for me. Yesterday evening I took my wife and told my SA that she wanted to drive the car. He put plates on the car and let us go by ourselves. My wife knew I was dying to drive the car. Bless her heart, she pulls out of the dealership, pulls into the next parking lot and lets me drive. There is an industrial area with some twisty turns near the dealership so I was able to drive the car in a manner other than in traffic. After I got that out, my wife got behind the wheel, drove and loved the car as well.
Went back to the dealership and put in an order for the 135i with the following options:  SGM 6 Speed Manual Black Leather Aluminum trim Sport Package Premium package Cold Weather Package Comfort Access System Premium hi-fi i-pod/USB adaptor Expected delivery is June and will get a better date today. They did me well on my Z4 trade in considering they had me over a barrel (Z4 not high demand and 135i for MSRP). Plus my Z4 warranty is up mid April and I get to keep the Z4 until my 135i arrives. The 135i test car was the only 135i they have and last Thursday it had 35 miles on it before I took it out. Yesterday, it had 103 miles when we took it out. Not many test drives over the week.:iono: |

For snowboarding go check out Tamarack. It is a new resort. No lift lines, days after a dump you can find untracked powder. They have some great out of bounds skiing/boarding that is easy to get out and back into the resort. They have good package deals on lodging and boarding. I bought a .5 acre lot just outside the resort and am going to build when the snow clears this spring.

IDBMW,
Did you buy your "1" through Peterson's? I've bought several vehicles through them and have never really liked the experience. However, since they will be the ones servicing the "1", buying from them is something I've had to consider. I've talked to several different salesman about ordering a 135i and received several different answers (i.e. allocations, availability, if ordering may even be an option at this point, etc). Frustrating to say the least. Any advice or recommends? Thanks in advance. By the way, some of those extra "test miles" you noted were mine |

Nice to see someone else from ID is on the forum. I bought my 135i from Petersons. I agree with you that the buying experience sucks. They all seem to be the stereotype used car salesmen with the checkered coats. I get so many different stories from the SA’s that I know there full of it. The only person I will deal with there is Zach Butler. He sells Lexus but I bought a BMW from him years ago and he is selling me the 135i. Zach is the only straight shooter there. I usually buy my BMW’s from Kuni BMW in Beaverton, OR since they are a Costco Auto program dealer. I saved $7K at Kuni over Peterson’s best deal on my Z4. Since the 135i was at MSRP with June delivery and my Z4 Warranty is up mid April, They gave me a fair trade in (I had to work them hard) and are letting me keep the Z4 until the 135i arrives. Last evening when we pulled back up to the dealership in the black 135i and got out you could smell something really hot. My wife noticed and wanted to get away from the car so the SA did not smell it. |
