It is with no pleasure i inform you that tomorrow BMW prices will rise again 8%. This brings the total financial year increases for 08/09 to 30%. I was just told a memo was sent out tonight and is implemented tomorrow morning.

Is that on cars or parts?

Pricing i was talking about relates to parts. Who knows why, blame anything like economic crisis, currency flucuations, we cannot do anything about it. I'll get a hard copy tomorrow and have a read. It is common to get parts price increases every month but this much in one hit is hard to take. It pisses me off. As a business it adds to my costs that i have to pass on.

More reason to order the parts overseas. They will not win.

Interestingly I brought two oil filters from Doncaster on the weekend for $32. I paid about $25 previously so I thought things were getting cheaper!

it'll be interesting (to say the least) to see if there's an increase in the car prices as well, considering I'm supposed to pick up my car in the next week or so.....

I guess if they can't sell enough cars, they just have to make it from somewhere else to keep the company afloat. I would like to complain, but that's what business is.

I had to raise our Gym membership prices by 5% to compensate for a 15% hike in our rent.. First membership increase I have levied in nine years and I had a avalanche of complaints from members..Yet, we have spent a average of about $150K per year on upgrades in that time...
WHAT is BMW's excuse for such a hike in their prices.???? NONE, and the best part is, they dont have to explain themselves.. |

I thought they may have been trying to make the extra money with the $400 oil change they quoted me

An oil/filter change came to about $290 for me but that was with very expensive Mobil 1 0W-40. So not tooo bad. But then again my Lotus cost only $240 for a 'A' service inc. oil/filter change and it takes a good while to take the two undertrays off & back on plus the front access panels alone...
