BMW Warranty & Paint
My searches have only yielded questions about whether the BMW Warranty covers chips in paint.
My CPO 2011 Crimson Red 135i has only 39k so still covered under Full warranty. I've only owned it for 4k miles. My front and rear bumper have turned and unsightly orange. Under most light, there is a very visible contrast. Is anyone familiar with BMW's policy on this? Is paint fading covered Full warranty or am I SOL?

Probably not covered under warranty since its 3 years old. They'll say wear and tear or improper car care either way. If the clear coat peeled, thats a different story.

I do not have paint chips (well, I do, but that's not what I'm complaining about ), I have faded crimson red paint on my bumpers.

Hmm, I can imagine them claiming this, but paint should stay more than 3 years, no? It was just CPO'ed 4k miles ago. If the paint was like this then, then how were the able to CPO it?

Have you tried taking it to a local (Proper and reputable!) detailer to do a test spot of compound and polish to see if the colour comes back?
Do you live near a bodyshop, train tracks, somewhere with overspray or a lot of fallout?

CPO has nothing to do with paint. Nothing in a CPO warranty covers paint. Not to mention you sign an as is contract once purchasing a used car. CPO covers mechanical issues. Not waxing a car will lead to red fading in no time flat on most cars. I own 5 detail shops, I see it alot. Many dealers will use detail methods to cover up flaws that already exist on cars as well.

also have cpo
I also have CPO, under 50,000, with factory warranty. I think warranty covers faded paint....But, idk if this would help, I had fades on air vents(all of them), side markers, steering wheel(with chips on plastic piece), shift knob(manual), and door lock rings and have gotten replaced/fixed under warranty as wear&tear/defect... so go in to your dealer and ask?

For what its worth, I have a crimson red 2010 CPO'ed 135i and my front and rear bumpers were repainted by the dealer. (they outsourced it). What I'm trying to say is your bumpers may have been repainted, and might have been done improperly. I had to have both bumpers repainted a second time because the original shop the dealer used was poor quality. (dealer fixed for free btw). Worth looking into perhaps.
