My 2013 135is - Delivered by Toreador 4/19/13
Due to the popularity of The Toreador Has Docked thread, thought I'd make a nice place for all us rare 135is cars that were on that boat. And no, that's not 135i pluralized.
Now that she's all cleaned up, I took some good pics of my car, some in the shade this morning, then later this afternoon some direct sun pictures as well. So, without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to the girls of the Toreador! Some of them even go around town topless! First up, meet Isabelle, aka Izzy: Isabelle is a 2013 135is in Mineral Grey. The rest of her details and pics are below:
The stainless steel pedals I had to fight for to get on a DCT 135is so the manual people don't have all the fun, but ultimately just paid to have them installed. And everybody's favorite part of their 135is: And this is how far away I park from everyone - as many spots as possible! That's me off in the distance! And keeping bad girl Izzy in line (no easy task!) throughout the Toreador's April adventure was this gal Sabine:
2013 135is Convertible *Alpine white exterior *Black leather interior *6 speed manual transmission *Premium Package *Anti-theft alarm system *Heated front seats *Black kidney grilles installed at VDC port She enjoys going topless often and has discovered the only thing better on an "is" than listening to the exhaust is dropping the top and listening to the exhaust. Oh my - you think it sounds great in the coupe? You have got to hear it with the top down! The sound of the exhaust with the top down is worth the price paid for a little bit of cowl shake! Only modification so far has been to replace the 16" tall factory black antenna (which is unique to the convertible) with a BMW 3" tall Sport Aerial Rod (P/N 65202296761). Huge improvement in the looks department. Love the look of the clean low-tech interior..... Oh, and did I mention that I like the exhaust?! |

Greg, your car looks great in Mineral Gray! And check out those stainless steel DCT pedals! Of course, you had to show me up with bigger pictures.....
Interestingly, your coupe seems to sit a little higher in the back than my convertible. Maybe it's the extra 250 lbs weight the convertible carries, or maybe it's just a matter of settling down more over time. Last edited by Kouper; 05-12-2013 at 07:38 PM.. |

You get to put the top down and listen to the exhaust, while I have to floor it to produce the same results, so let me have my big pictures. Sadly, they were 3x bigger on my digital camera, so I shrunk them all down.
The only thing I love more than my color is my chrome around the front grille. Or my free comfort access. Randy, we're waiting for you! |

How hard did you have to fight for the pedals? Your dealer or BMW NA? When mine arrives if it does't have them im going to try and fight the dealer to get them to throw them in.

That is a nice car. At first I wondered why it was so far off the ground (almost looks like a 4x4 in some pics) but then I realized the car was parked on perhaps some uneven ground.

Now just a min sir. I'm a tad salty with the above statement there. You IS people aren't THAT special (sarcastic voice lol). Just kidding all in good fun. I would have had one if they could have been delivered where I live. Cars look great guys.

My one big complaint about the car so far is that the accelerator seems to stick -- but it only happens in tunnels, under bridges and when up against cement walls. Go figure

Finally got some pics worth sharing!
I have been rained on twice in a week in freakin Arizona! Not sure if the vacuum created by all the power of the IS is causing it or not, but here goes.
Cheers all! Randy |

Looking good Randy! Something seems to be wrong with your side mirrors though as they've gone into hiding like a frightened turtle. Camera shy I guess. Ha!
Looks great with the tint, too. How you liking the blue stitching? I was on the fence about that and almost got that leather as a stand alone item. Hope you're enjoying it after all the drama though and this thread wouldn't be complete without yours here. Plus, you have nice big pics to put Kouper to shame. We'll have to have a Toreador 135is reunion one day in Vegas or something and get them all there, deafening the people on the strip. Last edited by gregthegr8; 05-18-2013 at 04:34 PM.. |
