SLeK Rear Diffuser Received, Opinions Needed
Hello All,
I ordered and received, ~9 weeks later, a SleK Rear Diffuser for my car. I received it yesterday and it was packaged really well. I opened the box for inspection and I am feeling a little dissapointed in the quality of the piece. I am posting this here to get some feedback and input on this to see if I am being too anal or if others feel this is less than ideal for the wait time and price tag of $1,200. Please see below for pics: I understand these are custom pieces and there are likely to be flaws... Am I being too picky? Thank you for your input, Sam

For the price that thing should be flawless. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't be too stoked on that either.
From a distance its going to look great, but its one of those "I know its there even if other people don't" things.

I recently ordered a ebay one, and CF was flawless. I had to return it because it was not meant for the 1M, but for the 1M "style" bumper. |

Thank you all for your feedback. I have sent these pictures over to SleK to see what they say. Hopefully they will be willing to send a new piece that meets the quality standard they advertise and is worth the price they are charging. I will keep everyone posted....

I didn't know what to look for. Then I really super sized the images and I see your disappoinment. I'm in the category that if I know it's there, it bums me. I assume they'll take care of you. For that kind on money, you'd sure hope so.

Update, it has been over a week and I have no more information. The owner of SleK said he will call me back when he is back from vacation although I have no idea when that will be.

It looks like a $300.00 knockoff. I would send it back(on their dime) and get a full refund. I'm tired of seeing aftermarket companies charging these prices for shit products. You can get an oem diffuser for the M2 or M4 for $300.00 dollars less.
I hope more people go with the cheap ebay crap, at least you know what you are getting.

I spoke to the owner of SleK and he is going to be issuing me a new rear diffuser within 2-3 weeks. He said that there was an issue with resin and that they could have done a better job with clean up and finishing.
I will keep everyone posted on the new piece that arrives. Thanks!

I had a Slek cf decklid on my car and came across the same thing. The body line wasn't sharp and crisp and the edges weren't perfectly rounded Even or all the same shape and it looked ever worse on the inside. I bought it used at about half price so I wasn't too upset but I called Slek anyway and made sure it was genuine and they said it was theirs and that's just how the quality was. Would definitely have been mad if I paid retail at 1200-1300.

It took longer than quoted to receive it. It came in much better quality visually although I have not installed it yet. I am hoping to have it installed next week.

Well, we (a professional body shop and I) tried to fit this rear diffuser today and could not get it to fit properly. We were able to get the tabs into the bumper but there was still a very noticeable gap. We tried to get it as tight as possible and then riveted it but the top just kept popping out of the bumper. It does not seem like the tabs on the diffuser are shaped properly.
We took it apart and will try again. We did do this with the bumper off the car and next time we will try with the bumper on. 😔 |

Yup, quite the experience. It has been pretty disappointing all around. Maybe our next attempt will be successful.

Today is the day. We are bound and determined to make this work. We have all the tools, Dremel, files, epoxy, etc. and are going to give this a go. I am hopeful we can do this. I will try to take some pics and report back with how it went.
